I must admit your mods look good but I'm not sure how effective they are.
The main objective is to get as much cool air as possible into the airbox so blocking the lower area where the OEM intake gets its inflow from maybe counter productive.
The grill area you have made according to TEC is where the hot air accumulates , they suggest the top right corner is the best place and have not mentioned blocking the lower area.
Having said that I hope it is working for you.

Thank you Dave I haven't seen the video before. I could see where blocking/diverting the air coming in from the front would be beneficial as well as the crossflow venting of the side cover once the front is blocked. Yeah another project... well an extension of a past project 😀 I've ridden since the initial mod and didn't notice any change but its also been relatively cool lately so the test would be when its 100F out.

I wired my aux lights with a Amazon wiring kit. Very pleased. Bright but not blinding. Video doesn’t do them justice. I wanted conspicuity, I got it. Yellow film from lamin-X is next

12 v is low, and a sign of a fault somewhere.
I have one which measures battery voltage when there is no charging, and charge voltage when there is, so I get a warning if things start to go south, is yours the same?
I was under the impression that 12v was good? I know when I'm riding the voltage goes up tp to 13.5v. I have it connected to the terminals on my DIN outlet which is connected to the ignition wiring. when I turn the bike off, everything goes off until I turn her back on.

Might depend on the battery, some AGM types have over 13v new and the manufacturer considers they are US when they get below 12.6.
But most types will have more than 12v if in good condition , your 12v might indicate losses somewhere in the system.
Some report more than 13.5 when charging too.
I have no problem hard wiring these things, my digital watch runs a year on a tiny button cell so I figure a similar size of display on my meter is not going to cause many problems with the bikes battery.
Just saying---!

Installed hand guards! Trying to figure out the engine guards next, got ones with sliders and I misplaced the directions 😑
I’ll figure it out, just don’t want to bother with it, too late

If anyone is interested in these cheap handguards I got them on Amazon. They sell on eBay too. Around 20.00. They make black, smoke and clear. Deep6 all the hardware they come with. You’ll just use the handguards. Enlarge the bolt hole to RE stock bolt size. Attach front end to mirror with thick old school small block Chevrolet starter shim. Paint whole thing flat black and rock n roll down the street. Now these are not as strong as bark busters but they are 20.00 dollars and not 150.00!! I’m not doing green lanes or single tracks. Street and maybe a fire road.

I had these on a 2014 Honda nc700x. Worked great. That pair came from China on eBay and took 6 weeks. Way back then.. these were Amazon. Couple days and quality seemed as good or better that first pair. Thick plastic. Decent hardware although you don’t use any of it. The starter shims I had were a lil on the thin side. Works fine. If anyone does this setup try to get thick shims. Bolt hole to bolt hole it’s perfect length. Handguards work great! 30 degrees with no heat I was comfy!8F544E0E-8B09-4785-94A8-42928C7E7DCC.jpeg3630B09F-9BC7-46E7-AA3E-74E37F6077BC.jpeg

Went out for a ride to test out my new heated vest in the cold... Excellent...

Whilst out I was thinking how rubbish the headlight on dark country roads even with an icr breaker bulb fitted... Thats when I discovered that if I put my hand in front of the dash. my headlight suddenly looks alot brighter....

The dash is clearly too bright for dark night conditions. :-/
