I re-adjusted the valve clearance again, they where a bit loose. Valves sounding just fine now, they do have to travel quite a bit further down with this cam tho
Im curious about the differance between the stage 1 and 2 cam... you will notice this stage 2 one tho...Mine is due to arrive tomorrow and I can't wait. When I changed my cam and adjusted the valves they where a fair bit louder. I re checked them and I'd let them go just outside of the range on the loose side ( wasn't by much ) so tightened them up a little more and it sounds much better. Now they are to the loose end but still in the tolerances.
The fuel x and filter and open cover are on now. Will take her for a ride tomorrow and see how she runs.Im curious about the differance between the stage 1 and 2 cam... you will notice this stage 2 one tho...
It is running too rich if that fuel economy is correct.well after a few long trips i decided to remove the fuel x as my fuel economy dropped by 120km on a full tank on average and my spark plugs where pretty fouled up. but after just a few weeks of riding the rough stock fuelling i decided to suck up the fuel economy and put it back on. the bike feels so much better with it and its worth the extra fuel in my opinion.
Yes way too rich. It's the fuel x lite version and I'm trying to find away to lean it out a little. The stock feeling is too lean so wouldn't mind something in-between the two.It is running too rich if that fuel economy is correct.
Currently contemplating some mods, Stage 2 cam and Fuelx amongst them and i think this statement has made the decision for me, which would be the Pro version as it can be changed on the fly, a ways off yet though.Yes way too rich. Yes we'll if I was to buy again I would go thr pro so I could lean it out too. I have messaged them but I suspect the map is just a tad bit too rich. For general riding though I leave it plugged in as it runs so much better. Low rps and the torque down low is drastically better and it's worth the extra fuel. I just unplug it now for the longer rides. I may upgrade to the pro myself soon tooCurrently contemplating some mods, Stage 2 cam and Fuelx amongst them and i think this statement has made the decision for me, which would be the Pro version as it can be changed on the fly, a ways off yet though.
Matt i think i would be contacting Racedynamics, could your Fuelx Lite be having an issue ya think, that change in fuel consumption is quite a bit.
The Autotune model is the Lite, which is giving Matt issues with more fuel consumption, the Lite was my initial thought as i dont care to have the switch on display but have now opted for the Pro version instead, not bought yet. They also have an Auto Tune module.
The switch is a bit Fugly but can be operated with Mitts or Gloves so is acceptable, these units are the closest thing you will get to Magic on a Himalayan. The Autotune model is the Lite, which is giving Matt issues with more fuel consumption, the Lite was my initial thought as i dont care to have the switch on display but have now opted for the Pro version instead, not bought yet.
Oh yea them's fugly alright, good to know there full of pixie dust though no rush just at the moment, will purchase one along side a cam upgrade and air filter. Might wait for the warranty to expire 1st, maybe not though as it worth Sweet FA.The switch is a bit Fugly but can be operated with Mitts or Gloves so is acceptable, these units are the closest thing you will get to Magic on a Himalayan.
Thanks for coming back on that Matt, so for flatlands the light is good enough, but if changing altitude the Pro a better option, even though my local altitudes are'nt high, the Pro could still be best for when i hit the Alps. The lite version is set to map 5 from what powertronic tell me.
If I was to buy again I'd get the pro. Just makes adjustments easy and fine tuning. Thanks for coming back on that Matt, so for flatlands the light is good enough, but if changing altitude the Pro a better option, even though my local altitudes are'nt high, the Pro could still be best for when i hit the Alps.
