What have you done to your Classic today

Most of the forums that I’ve belonged to normally have a thread ‘What have you done to your ?X?X?X today’…it sort of covers everything, we’re born tinkerers, but some of the stuff we do isn’t worth starting a whole new thread for…so I’ll kick it off.

Fitted a set of touring handlebars yesterday/today, I have the touring seat fitted and it sort of put the riding position slightly out of whack for me (I’m 5’ 11”)…so I bought a set of touring bars off WeBike from Japan (which came with extended clutch and throttle cables) which also came COD, and after having a brief ride today they’ve put me in the perfect riding position. The bars are about the same height, but the pullback is quite a bit more…I’m liking them.

Interesting. With the springer, it put me back a bit more than the stock seat. Not sure how that angle might be on the wrists on a longer ride. Would you report back when you've spent some time with them, please?

Yeah sure, I've done probably about 100km with them so far and no issues at all...I'll report back when I've done a days ride with them (y)

Ordered the Royal Enfield bar set KXA00035 from royalenflow on Ebay yesterday. I'll post back once they arrive and are fitted.

I tried ordering those from the dealer I bought the bike from...but he couldn't get them. They do come with longer cables though so no problem there.

It's easier to take the tank off to replace the throttle cable because it cable tied to the chassis near the mid point of the tank.

Didn't know those existed. They look like what I need, too. The last time I changed handlebars on a bike was a disaster, and we're getting into the cold time of the year (I have to do maintenance on the street), so not happening soon, but I'm really curious how they work out, Stig.

Thanks for the tip, Neil.
I haven't heard anything from the seller yet but it was Diwali over the weekend and Delhi is covered in thick smog so I can't blame them if they don't rush.

I put my racks and bags on today for the first time...I must say I'm very impressed with the RE bags
Hello friend, I just ordered the chain cover from ranger-korat. In the waiting time, can you pls advice me how to remove this screw cover? as this cover made from plastic, I'm afraid I'll break it @@

Touring bar kit KXA00035 arrived today from Delhi. Everything included and looks kosher but no instructions included. I bought them off Royalenflow on Ebay on the 16th so a 5 day delivery from half way round the world is pretty impressive.

Hi Stig, I forgot to mention that there's an added bonus with the touring bars, there is just enough room to fit a phone mount at the base of the bars (I had to file a fraction off my mount so that it didn't touch the speedo surround)

From what I understand, there is supposed to be a QR code on the outside of the box that links to instructions. Being as the Indian Postal Taping Union tends to cover those, I've been using videos and the instructions that Hitchcock's often has.
