Picked the Scram up this past Saturday. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to more the 5 miles on it due to the weather we have been having. I’m also having a hard time finding a helmet that properly fits and doesn’t give me a migraine, but that’s another story.

Rainy cold days are pretty good for adding mods though. Already fitted a center stand, and the front fender risers from Hitchcocks. Connect a hook up for a tender to the battery, and put on a nice tinted wind/fly screen. The bike came with a host of RE add in’s from the dealer. The crash bars, hand guards, rear master cylinder cover, oil cooler cover, master cylinder lid, and oil cap.

From the 5 miles I did ride I definitely do not like the visibility the stock mirrors give. I ordered a set of Amazon cheapies and don’t care for them either. Ordered another set of ADV style ones and will give them a go in the morning. As far as mods go I think I’m done for now once I get the mirrors sorted. I would like to get the exhaust pipe and can painted flat black to match the engine. I’m not a huge fan of the cheap brushed stainless steel finish that’s going to turn rust brown in a few weeks from heat.

I also started to go over everything that’s bolted down that important. I found a small exhaust leak where the slip on goes over the pipe. The clamp was very loose, as were the bolts for the silencer which were half way out. Figured I would check the Manifold and lo and behold they were loose too along with some on the handlebars. Not super impressed with the dealer or their RE mechanic at this point in time.

Congrats! Almost the same mods I've already done. I went with the Doubletake mirrors. Initially tried to keep the look cleaner, but I really like how they perform and have had them on few other bikes.

I don't think dealers take these bikes seriously, which sucks. Thank goodness for their simplicity though, as you can do most of the stuff yourself. Just need your Youtube certification :)

I think you are right regarding the dealer not taking it serious enough. Today I took it for a 30 mile run. I happened to pull over on the side of the road to check my phone and one of the Allen branches lets that holds the side panel on falls out on the ground. Got home and all bolts on both sides needed tightening.

the dealer I bought it from is a huge Harley Davidson dealer. They must have 150 brand new Harleys, and 20 used on the floor. They have about 10 to 12 RE’s. I paid for the bike last Monday and they had just gotten a Classic 350 signals bike in which i absolutely love. I told the salesman it would be gone in a week. I went back this past Saturday to pick up my bike and it and two of the bigger 640 cruisers were gone and getting prepped for pick up.

The Monday I paid for the bike the sales team was in a meeting with corporate because their new 2024 product line was released last Wednesday and the prices are insane. When their call was done they were all very worried because they are having trouble selling motorcycles that cost more than cars.

I bet they won’t have issues selling more basic affordable good looking bike this summer like RE offers.

Factory torque on manifold is so low you almost need lock nuts!
Most mirrors need extenders to get the end out past the end of the bars, some cheapies have CE markings and are OEM quality.

I can tell after a few rides I’m going to need to lower the pegs a bit and extend the foot shifter and break levers. I’m a tall guy at 6’3” and have size 13 feet. When I wear my ADV boots I seem to miss a lot of shifts and when going from 1st to 2nd end up in Nutella about 30% of the time.

Let us know how you tackle this and what parts you ordered! I'm 6', too fat, and size 11's. Everything fits well, so far. It could use a blower to haul me around though. :D

I picked my Scram up yesterday and put 30 miles on it when I got it home. Only issue I've found so far is that I can't put it in neutral from first...I have to go to second and drop it down to neutral. I'm assuming it could be a simple clutch adjustment.

Mine was like that as well but after a few rides and about 60 miles it’s started to break in I guess and I can get neutral from 1st a lot easier. I have read that this is common with the Scram.

I haven’t found much yet on the American market, but these came recommended by someone in a YouTube review, unfortunately I can’t remember who. Of course once I got the bike home they sold out so I’m just waiting until stock comes back in.

I know Rocky Mountain ATV has extended foot controls as well that are pretty affordable. I kids which Simone made a higher seat as well.

Service manual says 2-3mm gap between mounting bracket and end of clutch handle. Just measured mine and it's 5mm.

I will check mine. My dealer misplaced the manual and the spare key. They said they are working on getting me replacements so I haven’t gone through everything yet. I probably should just download it for now.

Thanks for sharing.

What color option did you get?

Of course, check all the adjustments. i don't trust dealers. The motor and trans will also change a lot over the first few hundred miles of break-in.

I got the yellow/graphite. I was supposed to get the red/white but there was an issue with the bike.
