Picked the Scram up this past Saturday. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to more the 5 miles on it due to the weather we have been having. I’m also having a hard time finding a helmet that properly fits and doesn’t give me a migraine, but that’s another story.
Rainy cold days are pretty good for adding mods though. Already fitted a center stand, and the front fender risers from Hitchcocks. Connect a hook up for a tender to the battery, and put on a nice tinted wind/fly screen. The bike came with a host of RE add in’s from the dealer. The crash bars, hand guards, rear master cylinder cover, oil cooler cover, master cylinder lid, and oil cap.
From the 5 miles I did ride I definitely do not like the visibility the stock mirrors give. I ordered a set of Amazon cheapies and don’t care for them either. Ordered another set of ADV style ones and will give them a go in the morning. As far as mods go I think I’m done for now once I get the mirrors sorted. I would like to get the exhaust pipe and can painted flat black to match the engine. I’m not a huge fan of the cheap brushed stainless steel finish that’s going to turn rust brown in a few weeks from heat.
I also started to go over everything that’s bolted down that important. I found a small exhaust leak where the slip on goes over the pipe. The clamp was very loose, as were the bolts for the silencer which were half way out. Figured I would check the Manifold and lo and behold they were loose too along with some on the handlebars. Not super impressed with the dealer or their RE mechanic at this point in time.
