I have used this in the Harley. Worked pretty well for a good 40K miles or so, but on a trip out west a couple years ago I started hearing lots of valve-train noise after a day where I ran a hundred miles or so at 80mph in 100+ degree heat in Utah. Switched back to dino oil upon return, which (fortunately) quieted the ol' Twinkie down. If I'm going into the heat with that bike again, I really need to add an oil cooler. Also ran it for most of the 20K I owned a GS. Worked fine, and if I ever needed to top-off, Walmart* was a lot easier to find than a BMW shop! Best price I found for the stuff was at Farm & Fleet, though of late I've been getting so many discount/sale emails from Advance Auto that they've been the cheapest source.Mobil1 V-Twin 20W50. $10 at Walmart.
I didn't use Mobil 1 in the Himalayan because the label didn't explicitly say it complied with the JASO standard in the Himma's manual. I'm pretty sure the API rating is equivalent, but the bike was under warranty at the time and Valvoline's full syn was the same price and said "JASO" on the label. Thus works the market...
