What‘s the best burger and where did you find it in your travels? My favorite is the Blue Bird special at the Blue Bird Inn in Bickleton, WA. It’s the oldest continuance running tavern in the state of Washington, opening in 1887. It’s about a 320 mile loop ride that I have to do two times a year, just to get the best burger in the state in my opinion.

Haven't had a decent burger from a burger bar since Mc Donalds started up in Oz and killed the business.
Still get the odd decent one in a bar, the bottom pub in Mannum does an OK one, but still have memories of the burgers from the deli on Port road where the Entertainment Centre now stands.

The best burger I've ever had was actually in Paris, at a place called Le General Beuret. I don't know why it was so good, I guess it was just good quality meat, and it was thick and messy and very rare in the center which is how I like my burgers. I wasn't on a motorbike at the time but I rarely eat burgers when I'm riding anyway so I don't have to crap in public toilets.

Definitely, without a doubt, hands down the BEST burger I ever had was at (and was is the operative word) The Nugget in Summerland, CA. And not the bozo, wanna-be, new-age, yuppie joint that it became in the 80's and 90's. (That's when candidate Bill Clinton played his sax there one night...last time I went, there was still a plaque on the wall....)

No, I'm talking about in the late 1960's, when the original owner had it, and had owned it for over 30 years. Tiny little place with enough booths and a bar for maybe 12-14 people. A few of us would go in on Friday or Saturday evening after an afternoon of dirt-biking and watch him sling burgers on the grill, sweating like a pig over it (swear to God it was the most disgusting thing you'd ever seen!), with a basket of fries (chips for you Lymies), and a beer, and think you'd died and gone to heaven. God I miss that place!!! But it's long gone....

A distant (but still available) second is InandOut...

Well, salt does bring out the flavor of foods. Dude had his own special seasoning.
You nailed it on the head!!!!

Too bad he and the place are gone. Today the health department would run him out of town on a fast train. Funny how no one ever got sick there........

Just found my new fave burger, yesterday at Never Blue in Hendersonville, NC. Called the Chef's Burger and it was heavenly. Everything we had there was delicious, but that burger has me plotting a return trip soon.

I did little ride to east TX and AR the end of this year and found this really cool place in Palestine TX called the Pint and Barrel Drafthouse. They have what they call the Triple Piggy, with 3/4 lb pulled house smoked pork, three strips of fried spam, and three strips of bacon. It was very delicious and so large I had to take half of it out in a doggy bag for my next meal. 3848

A Hodads, what’s cost of this monster? I would have a hard time rapping hands around that one let along my jaws.

'Five Guys' doesn't make a bad burger, their fries are superb (made in peanut oil), and you can munch on peanuts in the shell while you wait for your order. Originally just a Virginia and then Washington, D.C. area local joint, it looks like they've gone big time. I just hope that success doesn't make them start sucking. You can find one nearest you here: https://restaurants.fiveguys.com/. For now, if you're feeling peckish and see one hove into view, you could do worse. Clearly, some folks have...

They have been set up in Washington and Oregon for a long time now. There is one across the street from my work. I used to have a jalapeño burger from time to time. Then about three years before the virus here prices got out of hand over doubling for a little burger. I did like the peanuts you can eat now no longer available but didn’t like the peanut shells everywhere you look, all over the tables and floor. Was this just a west cost thing at Five Guy’s or is this a nation wide thing to just dump the garbage on the floor and on top of the tables?

I've never noticed any over-abundance of discarded peanut shells in the Five Guys joints hereabouts. If anything, their gleaming white tile motif makes 'em look cleaner than most fast food places...almost clinically so. Yeah, they ain't exactly cheap, but the topic was "where to find a good burger". Personally, I'm happy enough with a McDouble in a pinch, but given the choice...

Coming back home from Grandma’s house last week we stopped at Junkyard Burgers and Brats just north on Junction City, OR. One more small independent out of the way place. I had their Junkyard Extreme, it was delicious! Just to large so I took half of it home and I have to say it was as good of burger six hours later as it was fresh the first time and that was a first. My wife had their Straight 6. She also took half back home for the next meal.
