The Slimey Crud event happens twice each year, the first Sunday in May and the first Sunday in October and we're getting ready. Last year's Spring event was the Maiden Voyage for my 2018 Himmi, only 20 miles on it before the weekend, my dear friend Mike dropped it off (helped to uncrate) almost the evening before. We've been making the event a weekend-long bunch of camping and riding; the early greening of the southern Wisconsin countryside and its many roads a fantastic way for most of us to start our serious riding season. Last weekend's snow is (mostly) gone and though there have been 'Cruds with snowflakes, odds are in our favor for very few solids falling from the sky from here on out, at least for a few months.
The BS4 will once again be on the trailer for a very early start Friday morning. Not sure yet how large our group will be, the bikes a varied mix and the GPS Routes pre-planned will involve little gravel.....this time. I'm supplying Friday evening's meal, the cooler won't be filled entirely with vittles. I was told after the fact that last year my Himalayan wasn't the only one present though I never saw another one. If you're able and haven't been, don't already know, plan to come, look for us at Leland.
I'm hoping to get some practice in this weekend.
