The GT 650 rear brake pedal is a poor design on an otherwise nice bike. Time to do something about it.

Terrible rear brake pedal. Not because it's made of stamped steel, but because of it's shape. It's shaped like a shifter pedal! Have a look at a rear brake pedal on most other motorcycles and you'll see what I mean. My foot contacts the bend in the stamped part of the pedal before I can find the rubber pad. I'm constantly hunting for the pad when braking. Not a very safe concept, to put it mildly!

I have an idea how to upgrade this pedal (it involves a bit of welding), but I'd like to hear if anyone else has found a solution for this issue.

My apologies in advance for my gross feet, but you can see the issue best this way! :)

Removed the pedal and bent it into a better position using a soft-jaw vice and a dead=blow hammer. It was a good time to lube the pedal pivot (it was bone dry).

I like this new position, but I think I'll still weld on a proper flat pad.
