Side Stand Blues

I have a 2022 Himi. I lowered the rear 20mm and the front maybe 10mm or so. Needless to say, the side stand needs to be shortened.

I am wondering if it is hollow? My thinking is I could cut a small section out of the middle (between the spring anchor and foot triangle), then tap both ends and thread in a rod.

Does anyone know or has tried this?

Here's a link to a post on here that might help you.
The stand is hollow and allows a 5/8 threaded rod to fit in with a tiny bit of room to spare , I drilled two small holes in the upper part of the stand and filled with weld in order to hold the rod fast.
3 nuts are used two of which are welded to each cut end of the stand , the third is used as a locknut to the bottom of the stand .
As you can see in the pic I cut the stand as close as I could to the spring tab and the kick tab and this worked really well .

I also removed the side stand pivot pin and replaced it with a stout bolt with nylon locknut , this stops the stand working the mount to spread apart and have the bike lean too far .View attachment 921View attachment 921

There are a few threads on the subject, so a search on the site might give you a few more tips.
When / if replacing the pivot bolt be careful with the length and nut thickness as any extra might foul the side stand spring and lead to eventual failure- DAHIK
Your 22 bike might have a shouldered bolt unlike the earlier bolts which were threaded for their full length, which is why some were replaced.
