Why do "third world countries" always look like paradise? :unsure::unsure:
Maybe they aint so 3rd world after all
Let me tell you why, my friend. Because when some enterprising folks build industry it sure don't look like paradise anymore! :D

Edit: IMHO, the simple life _is_ paradise

I've been homeless and it's not pleasant.
I've been "homeless" several times over the past 30 years. Sometimes by choice and when it was, I had a great time! Of course, "homeless" covers a very wide spectrum, from drug addicts sleeping in piss-smelling alleys to working folks trying to save in extortion-rate rent areas. It's a lot easier to be homeless here in California when you have money, a good vehicle, a 24-hour gym membership, and knowledge of the area you are in. Much less so, obviously, for a hungry family in need of clothes and shelter in a place with bad weather and high crime.

This is my ex-girlfriend (as they say here) waiting for a new owner to enjoy her lines. I've enjoyed every minute of the 60k kms we rode together, although she may be in a bit of a sulk when I ride off on the Himalayan :(

I wasn't homeless by choice. It was 'get out of the flat or we'll drop you over the balcony' sort of homeless - twice. I seem to have a habit of pissing off the local drug dealers wherever I go.*

* actually it's more like a hobby

I think this thread may now have come full circle...

A coffee shop, not in Nha Trang but in the Pham Ngu Lao area of Saigon.

If you are a coffee fan, Vietnamese coffee is superb. My favourite is ca phe sua, an intensely strong rich coffee with Vietnamese sweetened condensed milk. It is typically served as an individual drip with extra hot water so you can adjust the strength.

The result is incredibly additive, a full rich coffee with an intense taste that feels like velvet on your tongue.
