Why do "third world countries" always look like paradise?
I've seen plenty of similar scenes right here in the good old USA. In fact just about 3 miles from my house in the vacant lot next to the Walmart Super Center.Well it doesn't all look like "On the beach in Negombo".
I wouldn't call India third world but it has its moments. Here's on the street in Delhi...
Let me tell you why, my friend. Because when some enterprising folks build industry it sure don't look like paradise anymore! Why do "third world countries" always look like paradise?
Maybe they aint so 3rd world after all
I've been "homeless" several times over the past 30 years. Sometimes by choice and when it was, I had a great time! Of course, "homeless" covers a very wide spectrum, from drug addicts sleeping in piss-smelling alleys to working folks trying to save in extortion-rate rent areas. It's a lot easier to be homeless here in California when you have money, a good vehicle, a 24-hour gym membership, and knowledge of the area you are in. Much less so, obviously, for a hungry family in need of clothes and shelter in a place with bad weather and high crime.I've been homeless and it's not pleasant.
My old neighborhood, spent my childhood in Northport.Took a nice ride out to the Mill Pond House in Centerport, NY on Sunday.

I wasn't homeless by choice. It was 'get out of the flat or we'll drop you over the balcony' sort of homeless - twice. I seem to have a habit of pissing off the local drug dealers wherever I go.*Let me tell you why, my friend. Edit: IMHO, the simple life _is_ paradise
