September Journey

Getting the Himalayan prepped and the gear loaded for testing this weekend. Will be using the aluminum panniers for a 3000 mile solo tent camping excursion through Northern Arizona, Southern Utah and Western Colorado, leaving from San Diego. Going to take it easy and see some landmarks, some historical sites and some off-road excursions over a 16 day adventure. I'll be using Butler Maps as well as the TomTom Rider 550 GPS and see what the old GoPro Hero4 Black can record along the way. Once I am ready to leave on Sept 18 I'll post some pics of the bike and gear for the start of the journey. When I return in October I'll see what the videos are like.

Update: OK, was taking a much needed 2 week vacation from work to go on this trip. Unfortunately the tyrants in the U.S. have decided I am a threat to the country, even having recovered from COVID19 and having natural immunity. I do not respond well to dictatorial senile tyrants. So I will be losing my job after working for the same company the past 3 years. I am going to delay my trip until I get everything sorted out. America is not the same America as it once was.

Added 09/14: Still plan on posting some pics of the bike setup and gear this weekend and will take a couple weekend trips until I can plan the longer trip. Just that now weather comes more into play for the planning.

Some pics of what would have been the start of my trip. The SW-Motech dry bag has the tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, bike cover and rain jacket. The panniers hold just about everything else including spares, tubes, rocky mtn air pump, clothes. oil, brake fluid. I've mounted the tool tube on the back rack, holds original tool set and much more and easy to access. Tank bag is small, cellphone, wallet, small items. Front side bags have first aid kit, water bottles, misc gopro 9F9152B5-EB68-4C7D-AAC1-908032774B7B.jpeg51AB1A66-5787-4B34-8969-F6F31E972284.jpeg51ED19EF-901F-4AFC-94B7-1B5E17EFB350.jpegB6AA6094-BAF1-422E-81E9-016FE202BFF6.jpegDA9E30EF-A32F-4640-B861-7A8B0916F12D.jpegEBF2AE71-510A-4FF0-AD6C-052998821A4F.jpegcamera and gps gear, hat, sunglasses etc.

the 2 week trip was postponed as it was planned before the vaccine mandates came into play....I will be taking some weekend trip overnight until that situation is resolved. I'm not prepared to submit to tyranny from politicians with an agenda. I survived COVID at 71 and have natural immunity and am healthier than 90% of the U.S. population, I will continue to manage my own health. Once we consent and allow them to take away our freedoms we are all doomed. Read your history.
