Seat Concepts Tall vs Stock height?

Hi everyone hope we are all well I just got my first Himalayan e5 this week absolutely loving it, got a few bits on the way and I'm looking at the Seat Concepts seats I'm 6'2 and a 32Inch inside leg. My knees are just on the inside of the infil with the stock seat if I sit all the way back on it. Reminds me a bit of a 350lc in that respect. An the seat Height Is the same as my Nortons which is good.

I'm curious has anyone else at the same height had either or both off the seat concepts seats if so what do you think.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the comment :) for anyone with the seat concepts stock height seat, does it push you more toward the tank or do you sit further back than the stock seat?

Hopefully gonna have a drive an check some out in a dealer.

Been having a nosey at the Corbin to emailed them about import costs to the UK.

The seat buisness would be a great cottage industry to get into. Some bikes there only like 2-3 choices. Maybe none of them are what you want. Gotta learn how to sew!

Totally would :)

Just bought the stock height seat concepts seat after trying both down at CooperB loved the tall one super comfy but unfortunately wasn't to good for my iffy shoulder so got the stock height ones :) should be interesting. Very happy with how the standard felt.

Yep, I got the tall seat after both the stock and touring seat hurt me after only an hour of riding. Made a huge difference. I don't think it really pushed me closer to the tank, but then, I also have handlebar risers and mirror riser/extenders on my bike, so the seating position is sort of stock, just everything is much higher. I can comfortably ride all day on my Himalayan now though.

I am still going to get a sheepskin cover for it, but that's more for an anti-monkey butt fix since that stuff in a can doesn't do well after 10-hours on the bike.

I did the gripper top on mine. I like the idea of staying put while sitting. Part of me thinks I should have gotten the semi-gripper top as I think that contributed to the monkey-butt issue I had on my long trip last year, but it will come in handy when I add the sheepskin cover.

Still though, no regrets

I bought the SC tall...haven't worked up the nerve to deconstruct my OEM seat to install the SC foam/cover. Was the install difficult or am I procrastinating for no reason?

I'm not a tall person, rather avg, but I may be the worlds most inflexible person with a bum hip so I went "tall" for a little extra distance to the pegs and a bit of cushion.

I’m waiting patiently for my seat. I think it’s been 2 work weeks. No shipping info yet. Hopefully my seat guy goes easy on me for the install. I’m going to do everything but the stapling

Whooo hooo! Seat will be here by Saturday! If I had the stapler I’d be riding Sunday. I think I’m going to wait and my my seat guy do it if it’s not too much cash. I’m going to put the foam and cover on.. send him that pic— “how much to just staple it on there for me?” 😀😀😀 hook a brother up! Lol

Na, it was easy. I had mine done in about an hour, from start to finish. If you have access to one, you will want to use a pneumatic stapler. The seat pan is a thick and hard plastic, and a hand stapler would probably not get through it easily. Plus, I think I used 50 to 60 staples, so that made life easier. Just take it slow and you should be fine. Also, make sure to let the cover sit in the sun as you will want it warm and pliable so you can stretch it into place

I got my foam installed. Taking the seat to my local pro to staple the cover on. Man I hope I didn’t mess up telling them I wanted very firm. I told them my weight and that I like wide flat seats.. that’s what they gave me! I sat on the bike with it and I don’t feel any reaching for the bars issues. Wont know till I ride it. This seat is hard as a rock! Lol. Hopefully there is some break in to it0553AAF0-1447-4902-B776-2CBEA1EDBFF3.jpeg2115878F-3C09-4B1F-922F-0B194C44CD9F.jpeg57EB9539-E4A8-4EA5-A4DC-D400CCA178F6.jpeg

Here it is folks. I’m blown away. Seat concepts for the win! Perfect seat hight and density for me. Legs perfectly straight flat footed. I’m beyond thrilled. Have not rode it yet but the ergos feel great!
