Road trip tool kit

I have to add... after the weekend riding around in the mountains... One of the riders had a flat (tubeless tire setup) so I took out my toolkit and grabbed the Stop & Go Tire Plugger kit...

Man, what a piece of carp... After trying with three new mushroom plugs, not a single one would come out. Even tried a fourth one outside just to try and troubleshoot what the hell was going on, and nothing! The darn plug would not come out. Sent an email to them when I got home. I love their stuff... but this kit sucked for me...

Good thing that I also carry the trusty sticky strips as well... used the last one in the packet I had, plugged the tire, filled it up with the mini-air pump and she was back riding! Later, at the hotel, found the second packet in the bottom of the saddlebag... placed it back in the kit in case we had another flat during the trip... Thankfully, all was good.

As yo tools have the best tools on the bike. Having your only 12 km break while doing roadside repairs can be disaster. My tool kit is in a canvas pack and has a wrench and a socket sized for each nut I might have to tighten. I also have a spare plug and a feeler gauge, some wire and fuses. An adjustable wrench vise grips and wire cutters. This might seem a lot but I have had to do some strange repairs on the road. Once I had a rock thrown up by a truck hit the switch on the kickstand of a bike and shut down the engine. With the wire I was able to bypass the shutoff and get back on the road.

Follow up on the Stop & Go Tire Plugger kit... after exchanging emails with them, they asked for a video.

And would you believe that making the video clip the darn thing worked fine... son of a gun! I tried this three times on the side of the road trying to fix that friend's flat...

Anyway, I will stick to the sticky rope method...
