Now that I've got a Himi, my "KC to NC" ride is in the future! Anybody out in that spit of land between the Pamlico and Neuse Rivers, that's where we're migrating to. Be there next year. Got a place outside of Aurora. Until we move next year, we visit once every three months or so. Looking forward to exploring the area on a Himi!

Got a place in Aurora on Campbell's Creek off the Pamlico. Can't wait to ride from KC to there next year when we move out to NC. Side note: love to have a route that did two lanes and 55 mph at best roads from KC to Aurora. Any idea if there are any Nav apps that will do that? Riding through TN and western NC will be the highlight for me. Used to live in Elizabeth City area after I retired from NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach. Flying out next month to finalize contractor projects on the house, and do some speckled trout fishing! 2018 Hima

I have been using the Waze app - you can tell it you are on a moto - tell it to avoid interstates, ferries, etc. Have used it for cross state trips but not yet a multi state. The riding buddy has the moto specific GPS, can tell it "scenic route" and also avoid interstates.

I am tentatively planning a trip over to Tejas, will use Waze, but will take a close look at the route it chooses and adjust it as needs be.

Again, welcome to the Carolinas!

I appreciate you! I'll be flying into New Bern on 10 Jan for 2 weeks. When it's clear and dry in the mountains, I'll be riding back. Look forward to meeting you one day! Thanks

Well, let me knock some dust off of this thread. I'm in Nash County and will be taking delivery of my 2022 Royal Meteor Stellar Black on June 8th from Coastal Indian Motorcycles in Murrells Inlet, SC. Since it is over 210 miles away I'll be transporting it home for an easier break in and multiple shorter rides instead of one long one before having to perform the 300 mile service. I'm looking forward to this forum and glad to see there is a NC section to share ideas and information.

Welcome! Just got back from a 3K trip last month in the Himi. Found out I'm punching above her weight going through the mountains on highways. Love to travel, love to travel on the Himi, but she couldn't hang with traffic in the mountains. Through West Virginia and Western NC, double nickels was not happening up the big hills. 😔 I'm not confident she can get me through the rockies on a standard highway, I'm not even looking for interstates. But she's soooo fun to ride otherwise!

Welcome, where is Nash County? I'm in Henderson County on the eastern edge of the mountains.
Nash County is about an hour east of Raleigh. If you have ever traveled I-95 you went right through it. Depending on the map you look at it is also where the Coastal Plain ends and the Piedmont begins. Some say (and I tend to agree) I-95 is pretty much considered the fall line. Henderson County is a wonderful area!

Sorry ladies and gents, but I gotta let my Himma go the way of the dodo bird...:cautious: I'll be selling her soon and probably getting something silly like a Triumph Trophy or Aprilia Caponord, or something that just isn't normal! I'm looking at doing a bunch of asphalt miles with the wife, and she's agreed to go pillion on this next trip. Anybody in the KC metro area looking for a Himma and knows somebody in here gets a heckuva better deal! :O) I only hope whatever else I ride will have an owners group as cool as the RE and Himma folks.

Nice matched set!

Have you ever been to the REALLY informal mostly-Euro bike hangout at Whole Foods on 55 in Cary? I've only been on first Saturdays (I didn't go this month) but some of the folks might meet there on other Saturdays. Most folks show up around 10-ish. Thus far, I've taken 5 different bikes there; only 4 were ridden. Looking forward to showing off the Orangesickle. Usually lots of Ducati, BMW bikes; a couple of Triumphs; a Kaw W900, which I think is a massively underrated motorcycle; there's been one RE there that I recall - a red/white INT.

I havn't been to that, saturday mornings are usually late getting moving for me. But I might have to ride out some time if I can remember to wake up early and the weather is nice.

Laszlo, was that you on Miami Blvd around 12:30? I was out putting break-in miles on the Fireball and thought I saw an Orange Crush Interceptor headed the other way.
