Did you throw it away?
No need to throw away, just repair and make it better. Welds don't look great, but form over function. Been over a year since repair. No issues.Did you throw it away?
Might could make a rad sissy bar with that as the base.
I guess now I have to decide if I will order the ZANA rack or get the Himalayan pannier racks and just put my soft luggage across the rear seat.
Thanks. I went out and measured my box. Just need to see if the ZANA plate is large enough, or ask Loadtoad to weld a couple supports on my rack.I dont know what the Zana plate measures, but having made several...
left/right needs 8.90" apart, 4.45" from center line.
fore/aft is 8.48"
Measurements are hole center to hole center. Due to Givi box construction the for/aft measurement is more tolerant of being long.
Then I would buy the ZANA rack without the plate.or make the plate the size you need and bolt it to the zana plate.
6” by 8 1/2”. That is measured from roughly where your lines are indicated. Can you please provide the measurements in inches for the two long green lines? You can go all the way to the back tip of the plate if that is easier for that measurement since you won't know where exactly I am going to put the holes in the back of the plate.
Thanks.View attachment 312

Nice! BTW what is the white fuzzy thing on the other side of the bike in the 5th photo?I haven’t found much use for my rack yet. But hearing they break often I reinforced mine the past weekend while I was servicing my bike. Some 1/2 tubing that I use to use as a drift for knocking Subaru wrist pins out got repurposed.
Cut the angles with a hacksaw then half round file for better fitment. Lots of filing maybe eye balling the angles not best idea. But in the end it all worked out. I’m lacking the proper fitting pictures, I’m half good about taking photos to start then just forget about it once I get working. Hopefully it won’t break if I ever put anything on it now.

My wife’s bike is parked behind mine, so I think you can see bits of her dead sheep rolled up and poking up behind mine. I that’s what it looks like anyways. Good eyeNice! BTW what is the white fuzzy thing on the other side of the bike in the 5th photo?
I don't weld, but looking at your solution has me thinking about clamping a flat bar on the rack like how a cross brace is mounted on dirt bikes. Mmm. It is either that or buy the ZANA rack.I haven’t found much use for my rack yet. But hearing they break often I reinforced mine the past weekend while I was servicing my bike. Very good, very good. I try to do as much as I can with as little as possible, I share what I do in hopes it inspires someone else to see what they can do.I don't weld, but looking at your solution has me thinking about clamping a flat bar on the rack like how a cross brace is mounted on dirt bikes. Now I am thinking about using a turnbuckle so I can apply some upward force once I get it clamped down. Looks like a trip to Lowes and tractor supply this weekend.Very good, very good. If a clamp works for the handle bars to stiffen it, it should work for the rack as well.
