Himalayan excessive tappet noise

Well, I have certainly put in the effort to communicate, but my messages go unanswered and there are just not any answers to be found.
Reading about guys getting new engines under warranty would make one think that at least putting in new valve parts would at least be a start. You writing this one off as a business loss?

Also, that sticker you sent me sure does shine in the sunlight making it much more noticeable than all the other stickers I have on the hatch window on my truck cap! (y)

Great to hear of one out in the wild!

1 year, 4 months update: NO communication from dealer for several months, so I called and got them on the phone. They are still waiting for parts. I worked with RE in India for the past month over the phone and via txt to have the bike replaced with a new unit. A bizarre experience, to say the least. Got nowhere as today they told me there is nothing they can do on their end. I assume they have RENA involved, as well, so it appears they are not interested in making this right.

I filed a lawsuit today with an attorney out of California.

Just a suggestion... but the attorney general of whatever state where you bought the bike is a good (and free) place to start. I've started there on several problems, and when they get involved, things tend to happen. They don't like problem businesses, especially if they have a complaint from more than one citizen.

PS especially since you're a business owner - California and Montana, if I'm not mistaken. I don't know about Montana, but if you can get the attention of the California attorneys general office, you might be able to get something going.

@OldGuy I do appreciate your advice, however, I've reached the end of my rope with this ordeal and I generally take the path of least resistance when it comes to legal matters. The lemon law suit is a slam-dunk and requires very little effort on my part, so that is very attractive to me. I feel like I've given RE every possible chance to remedy this, but I must move on at this point.

Glad I found this, I have exactly the same problem at only 4k.
Contacted the dealer to get it rectified under warranty.
This is my first RE as I wanted to give them a try over my usual Honda choice...not good so far

Update on my rattly Himalayan: My bike has been at the bike shop for just over a month now waiting for a new part.
It seems the problem could be a loose cam chain tensioner, but as it is under warranty a new part had to be ordered from India.
Fingers crossed it will be fixed soon.

Change your bike shop. Do they, or can they, not talk to Hitchcocks?? Even to shorten customer wait times.
I'd be having words....They should replace yours, (£18) THEN take it up with RE. Just good PR.

I did ask if they could get the part from Hitchcocks but they said the part had to come from India as its under warranty. Getting a bit cheesed off its taken so long for such a small part. If this is the usual RE customer services then Im not impressed

Update on the battle? Very interested here in the Frozen North. One (semi) dealer for the whole state. Nearest other dealer (semi) two states away!

Spoke to A&M motorcycles in Letchworth UK again. Apparently they are waiting for MotoGB to send the part but they are unable to give A&M an eta...well they have but it keeps changing, ive been waiting six weeks.
Because the bike is under warranty the part has to come from MotoGB for some reason.
Ive suggested that I buy the part from Hitchcocks and take the part to the shop for them to fit, which is what I will do. After this kind of service I wont be buying from RE again thats for sure, very disappointed.

Update. The bike shop said the part had to come from MotoGB as its a warranty claim. Anyway, after six weeks of waiting and all the eta's from MotoGB came to nothing, I suggested I buy a part from Hitchcocks, which I did. The part arrived two days later and A&M motorcycles of letchworth fitted the part the nexy day. Ive informed RE but heard nothing from them yet. Seems the problem is with MotoGB.

Moto GB have sent me a letter, received this morning, warning me that my brake callipers are non anodised and that the use of the bike could result in serious injury ....
But ...
My brake callipers where replaced 5 months ago, for the second time .... with the new anodised callipers .....

Not clever Moto GB !!!!
