High tickover lever

I use a bit of throttle to idle it a bit higher and don't even use the lever. After 45 seconds or so, it will then idle on its own. Use just enough so it doesn't stall and hold it there for 30-45 seconds.

I installed the Iridium plug, which so far has removed the need for me to use the advance lever. How it performs in proper cold weather is yet to be seen ;)

I'm also near Surrey and bought my bike from Hartgate. About to get my 3000-mile service from them. Is that who you use and what experience do you have? My experience is fair. The sales guy was brilliant, chatty, informative and always says hello when I go back. The mechanics are pretty surly and only speak to me when absolutely necessary but seem to do a good job. After I'm out of warranty I have a brilliant local shop (Normandy Motorcycles) that will have my business. There must be a thread on here somewhere that recommends (or not!) dealerships and independent bike shops if only I could find it...

I haven't used Hartgate no. I have used Normandy MC. They are great, but whenever I contacted them they never seemed to have any slots free (In their defence, that was back when one of the lads was having some major health problems). For my dealer work, I use Bowen Moto in Chatham (where I bought the Interceptor). They did the first service on the INT and the Himalayan. I tried to buy the Himalayan from them but they couldn't source one, but my experience with them has been fantastic.

The dealer I eventually found and bought the Himalayan from I won't mention at all. I would never go back there. He was fully aware of the shortage of the bikes due to COVID, and he was damned sure he was going to take advantage of it. If he was the last Motorcycle dealer in the world, I would quit riding!

For all other spanner work that I am not confident enough to do myself, I use a small independent mechanic (again in Kent) It's a bit of a trek from here, but definitely worth the effort. Even with Fuel, and worst case a travel lodge, still works out cheaper than any local garage round here and all the work he has done for me has been top-notch.

Anyway, I digress. enough Hijacking the thread, if you or anyone wants more info, drop me a line or create a separate thread. ;)
