I would like to raise my bars an inch or two. Has anyone that installed a kit have to replace any cables?

I've never read of anyone having an issue with cables, but buy RE specific risers...the bolt spacing on the handlebar clamps is wider than it is on Japanese bikes. Ask me how I know...

I put the Motone risers on my 650. The clutch and throttle cables were OK, but just on the limit. To play it safe I bought longer cables from Hitchcocks. The front brake hydraulic pipe is just about at the limit so I may change that over as well.

I have the “up and over” risers and the only thing I did was reroute some of the cables to the inside of the forks so there was less tension in them. I believe it was the throttle/brake cable on the right. No issues once it did that.

I have the same, Had to reroute the throttle cables to the inside of the fork. Looking at doing the same with the brake hose. as it is too tight when turning the handlebar all the way to the right. Reading on other thread, some reroute the brake hose under the fual tanl to go rigth of the column. But I wonder if that will bend the hose back more when locked to the left, which will happen a lot (when locking the bike), when going all the way to the right doesn't in normal usage.

Update: got it all installed. Routed the brake hose inside the fork and had to bleed the brakes, no problems, everything works and I love the improved position particularily with the touring seat. Also installed the AEW te 101 slip-ons and the bile is just as I like it!

I used these and they went in with no cable issues. They tighten the cables up a bit but no binding on full turns either direction and everything seems fine after a couple thousand miles. No bleeding, no rerouting.

Hitchcock's handlebar relocation set.
