Good (and cheap) aftermarket brake and clutch levers

Hi everyone,

So, I did my first fall today, I've managed to bend the clutch lever.

I was wondering if anyone (EU preferably) can recommend a cheaper adjustable lever set? I thought about calling the dealer, but I never quite liked the clutch lever position anyway, so might as well find an aftermarket set.

Thanks!

I’ve had these on mine for a while now. I’ve installed three sets on three different bikes lately and on one bike I had to file the section that compresses the brake cylinder to fit the way I wanted. The problem is I don’t remember if that was the Himalayan set or the KLX. LOL.

I presume these are like the ones you can find on aliexpress?

Hitchcocks are 39.5 pounds, not sure how cheap you are considering but these adjustable ones installed easily and work well.
Was just looking at those.
I'll probably get these if I cannot find anything cheaper, 40 GBP price is ok as is, but with shipping any my country's VAT, it'll be over 60 at minimum, depending on shipping.

Some of the cheaper ones are a bit shorter and give a noticeable reduction in brake power.
Great if you find the front brake to powerful, but-----!
All seem CNC milled from billet which is OK, top line stuff sometimes claims to be forged and if it is it will usually bend a long way before it breaks and can be bent back. Billet not so much, but will depend on the grade and temper T of the billet, and most are silent on this point
And some cheap 'forged" are actually cast and will snap like a carrot and possibly stab you DAHIK
I just like the certainty of dealing with H , confidence that all will be good is worth a little premium to me, particularly with safety items.

I grabbed a set from Hitchcocks for my (US spec) 2022 and the front brake fits fine but the clutch lever is a problem. Haven't been able to get it to mount. I suspect I ordered the incorrect set....the Euro spec/rest of the world seems to have moved on from the hbar bistarter/choke set up and somehow that encompasses the changes that seem to be my fitment issue.

To the levers credit, the front brake is improved by the new lever in an appreciable fashion. Whether it's the leverage, the adjustment, I don't know but the brake is a lot better imho.

I'll probably grab an ebay set for the 17-21 year models and see if that resolves my clutch dilemma.

I also purchased FXCNC for my 22 Himalayan, bolted right on, seem to work correctly. I wanted spare levers to carry in case I break one, so the original levers are in the tool kit. Note that I had to add a few tools to my tool kit to be able to do a roadside swap. If memory serves, they were 8mm and 10mm deep sockets and a drive handle.

I got those! But got them from Thailand since I live in Myanmar. We're $10, and very awesome. Love them MUCH more than the stock ones!

One thing to note, some of em might be universal. They might look similar in every angle, but make sure it fits specifically on the Himalayan. Had a vendor send me meteor 350 handle which he said was the same..it fit, looked super similar, but the little metal part that presses the sensor for the rearlight was about a centimeter off..resulting in an always on brakelight!

How did the clutch lever not fit? I gather your bike has the choke lever? Does your brake have the small extension for the rear brake light (see pic of my bike- a 10/2021 Euro 5 from Australia)

Bonehead fitted some FXCNC to a 22 model that worked, but guessing this was the same as yours with the choke lever?

Gazz, yes my bike does have the bistarter or choke device. It has been a few weeks since I looked at it an tried to mount it so the problems are not fresh in my mind. The clutch lever does indeed have an extension or post/protrusion(struggling with terminology here) that is meant to engage the electric clutch open/closed switch. There also seemed to be an interference fit somewhere around the mounting/pivot bolt....I could get the bolt *in* but never could get the threads to engage, alignment was just a touch off and they would not line up.

My wording in my prior post was sloppy. I think that I should have ordered a set for the 17-21 model year considering my handle bar layout as opposed to the 22 model year. It's a modest frustration, I"ll try the FXCNC option as it's pretty affordable and see if that fixes things.

Interesting note: when I received my FXCNC levers, the company included a complimentary “Suzuki” keychain in the box! I was a little concerned they may have sent the wrong pair, but they seem to fit and function correctly.

Yeah, that's something we have to get used to when it comes to ordering parts for our '22 US models. For example, I installed the Booster Plug for older models on my '22 and it worked perfectly.
