Fuel pump non oem question

I am new in the forum
I have the 21 euro 5 himalayan and , on my trip to Africa from Denmark, the fuel pump went bad, ( no it was not the relay i replaced them before my trip)
I had to ship the bike home from Dakar in Senegal , and i got the fuel pump replaced under warenty
,,
well before i go again down in africa , i want to have a backup pump with me, and i am NOT going to pay the mafia money for the pump ( they are pretty expensive in EU)
so i want to get a other pump . that fit in the pump housing ,
Does anyone of you guys know of a pump that fits in that housing ?

btw.
I love the bike , Easy maintenace , love the tourgue , it just goes anywhere .. well if it wasnt for the fail pump ..
All bike has fails , and the fails will show when you push the bike to its limits , just like i do .. :)

Do you have the photos of the internal fuel pump and specs of the failed fuel pump? I replaced a fuel pump on a Japanse outboard and when I opened it up to get to the pump itself it was a USA Walbro fuel pump, so I saved a ton by just ordering the internal pump.

You shipped the bike back to Denmark to get the fuel pump on a 2021 bike fixed under warenty?

Absolutely worth it , the shipping cost not bad, about 600euro , in shared container, and if I should wait for new pump (I would buy it my self from India) i would have waited for s month or so , which would cost more duo to no(work) income in that time . So to get it replaced under warranty I shipped the bike home and started working again.. remember the bike is about 7000euro in Denmark duo to our high tax on motorcycle and cars

I live in the desert of Arizona and the #1 killer of fuel pumps is excessive heat, that's on new and older vehicles. It could of been just a bad quality part or heat related. Not sure why RE mounted it on the right side of the bike right over top of the exhaust especially on the Euro5 which also has the cat there too producing even more heat.

I have a 2022 US Euro4 which has the cat by the right peg and decided to cover the fuel pump & oil cooler line with thermo self adhesive reflective padding. A sheet of it was $25 on Amazon, and at my next valve service when I have the tank off plan on lining the bottom of the tank too. I know this doesn't offer specs on the pump itself but if you right hard then it might be something of consideration. Another thing I did was wrap the exhaust to, some people are against it and others see the benefit. I have even read articles/studies on it and it's still up to personal preference.

In this case it looks absolutely necessary. Your photos make it clear that the fuel pump and oil line need to be shielded from the exhaust. Nice tight wrap job, though I would suggest wrapping from the bottom up so that the overlaps face downward. Beneficial or not, I think it would look great on my Meteor ;-)

I did something similar since I live in S. Texas and gets ridiculously hot here too. I left the cool side open so wind can help cool it. With the stalling issues these have vapor lock came to mind since the plastic fuel pump is located next to the oven. I will wrap the oil cooler line as you did. Thanks......

I don't see any info stamped on pump to be able to compare it to something similar, looks like a simple fuel pump any idea what psi it pushes out?
The Regulator is built in to the white plastic body, it let's go about 44psi and holds around 40.
More importantly the end orientation etc so it fits in the case without modification.

Yes I guess when mine goes I will take it apart see if can find that regulator/pump to replace it. Hopefully with the heat shield will get some hours out of it.

hmm didnt think about the heat was killing it .. but it make sence , and yes they should have placed that on the other side of the tank , so i am going to wrap some shield around the exhaust just like i can see some of you have on the pictures ...
But one thing i dont get , in India there are the same heat, so they must have the same problem , but i dont see or hear of any problems regards that

This should drop straight in, the regulator is Part of the while plastic body, inside the Tank.
2 pair of hands would help pulling it apart, just clicks back together.

Auto pumps are the same, Nissan part $500- +, exactly the same pump in a plain box $90-, over the counter with a 12 month warranty.
Some systems are sensitive to pressure, some Bosch systems specify 45 PSI , regulators were 45 +- 2 1/2 PSI and 47 worked much better than 43.
BMW knew, they selected the high ones for factory fit and sold the low ones as spare parts. DAHIK!
The Seth Effrican guy who commercialised the first GS 911 BMW code reader also sold a kit to replace the BMW pump/filter regulator assembly which included a adjustable regulator and a proper filter between the pump and the regulator.
There are alternative filters around for the Hima, but still on the suction side of the pump. Alternative pumps from the same source too.
The O ring on the fuel sender on my carbed bike had been held in place with black silicone during assembly , and flakes of it were clogging the gauze filter on my petrol tap,
Injected bikes might have twice as much crap on the pump filter, plus whatever the gas station pumps up from the bottom of his tank, so some like a flush and dump when the tank is off to do the valves.
