Engine guards?

To be frank with you they are not bigger they look fine as I have installed on my bike. No issue changing oil with Givi Crash Bars so far. I got it from carpimoto for about $125. Installed it myself took me about 45min.

One problem I have faced while installing a bolt to chassis close to oil filter and behind exhaust pipe. The givi provided bolt is M8X20mm which is too long to install and exhaust removal is necessary, which I was not interested todo. I finally found that M8X12mm (Everbilt Cap Screw M8-1.25 x 12mm) fits well with out disassembly of exhaust pipes and it went almost 10mm inside the chassis which is a perfect fit.
Interesting you say that, I installed the Givi crash bars without removing the exhaust. I didn't measure the screw, I wonder if they changed it. Their instructions are not always the best, but that is GIVI.

I am glad that you are able to install it with out exhaust pipe removal, its quite possible that they might have provided a short bolt in newer versions.

I got the Givi bars and I got mine on sale for $160 (Revzilla). The three point attachment gives me more confidence than than the 2 point attachment of the RE engine guards. Also they don't make the bike too wide. I have not tested them yet but i am sure they will do a fine job,
Any issues accessing normal maintenance items with the Givis fitted?

I just purchased and installed the Givi's last week (so I'm assuming they're a relatively new set from the factory) on my 2021 BS6. I had to loosen, but not remove completely, the exhaust pipe. Just had to tweak the pipe out enough to get the bolt started, but not too big a deal.

I also suggest chasing the threads in the 'thru tube' before you do the assembly. Mine had paint/powder coat built up the threads. I just clamped it up in a vise with soft jaws and ran the bolt in both sides a couple of times. Once the bolt will go in easily, the assembly on the bike goes much more smoothly.

Other than that they fit and look great.

Congratulations on your REH and glad to know that you installed Givi engine guard. Givi might be using shorter bolts in latest model kits.

A FWIW follow up on this thread. Givi "engine guard" purchased thru CarpiMoto in Italy. $146 including shipping which took 6 days. Did have to loosen the Exhaust pipe a little and I "pre-chased" all bolt holes to insure smooth assembly. Only the one under the exhaust needed it. The whole application was far far easier than the RE pannier mounts which were a bugger. Thank you Givi for the elongated holes at attachment points. Bike is a 2021.

"Tested" my RE crash bars at walking speed. The tabs bent a little. Wasn't to hard to straighten 'em back out. I reckon any faster any harder the tabs would've bent more and absorbed that extra energy. Figuring at some point they'll fold all the way to the engine at which point they'd become sliders. 👍
I have these on my bike but so far only a fall over with no damag.
