Crash Bars

G'day all.
I'm looking in to the best crash bars for a 22 himalayan. I can not tell the difference between the Givi TN9050 and the SCR adventure moto
R-HM18-17-02
They are both about the same price.
Any advice or quality 3 point alternatives would be appreciated.

Cheers
P.S. my first post, so if it's in the wrong spot, i apologise.

At the same price, I would take the one I like best, I don't think there are any differences, but given how much SCRs cost, I would have no doubts about taking the GIVI.

I fitted the SRC Moto (black) crash bars to mine - SRC offers them in powder coated black carbon steel or polished 304 stainless.
The SRC's are a different shape that the Givi. I considered the Givi but I wanted the addition vertical bar and the greater surface area of the horizontal bars on the SRC's for the way I wanted to mount lower lights and the lifting handholds etc...

Either Givi or the SRC's in the end will more than likely provide the same amount of protection if that is your concern/reasoning for bars, my reason was more for the details I pointed out above.

Regardless they all suffer a terrible necessary design flaw which is the lower frame mounts protrude forward ahead of the frame. This is because of the head pipe - I've only seen one Indian company (can't remember the name) address this with their crash bars. I'm working on building a new bash plate which will extend forward and help keep the front mounts from getting hung up on rock edges.

You said you couldn't tell the difference between the Givi and SRC's - Heres a side by side screen capture.Screen Shot 2022-11-18 at 6.49.26 PM.png

Wow….

Then I been 0.1….I fell down on a old chopper Honda….slittered 3 meters on the flor holding the handlebars…….the big side leg guards saved my leg….
that’s why I’m thinking about leg protection
🙏
I ordered the Quality engine/leg guard off Ebay out of India. They where less than 80US. I got them cause they offered the most amount of leg protection and 1 solid piece of construction. Hope this helps.0926221613.jpg1007220653.jpg

They look like the ones that in the event of a drop when moving forwards (ie: most of them) they bend backwards gently lowering the bike down.
Apparently it’s easy to straighten them out again, so at least they’re reuseable 😄.

Aktually yes…you right….
That’s why I bought this strong looking slightly bendet scr guard….but it’s around 10 cm to short to protect the legs too…🧘‍♂️
Anyway I’m not looking forward to fall around…
I might go to a solder….

I have a GIVI on my 2019 and it was a snap to install. Looks good and has protected the cases a couple of times. I put an off-brand Indian crash bar set up on my 2020 and it was a total CF. When I finally got it installed I vowed that if it gets dinged it is history. My recommendation is got with GIVI. Pricey but worth it.
