Mine were done Sept 2021, I would have thought most have been replaced by now.
What was the issue? My rear brake quit 100% on me not too long ago. I bled it and bled it some more and finally some air bubbles and nasty looking brake fluid came out.Had my brake callipers replaced, free of charge, today as a result of a safety recall.
It May be worth checking your VIN (vehicle identification number) to see if yours is affected.
There was a recall for some early model Interceptor/Continental bikes as the callipers were likely to corrode in damp/salty conditions. Callipers were replaced FOC as a result. What was the issue? The rear brake works now, but it doesn't work as well as it probably should. Also, my front squeaks at slow speed. I tried cleaning the pads and rotors and it seemed to help for a bit, but I wasn't able to get the pin that holds the pads in place out, so it was more of a crappy cleaning than a thorough one and the squeak has returned.
I just got my bike this July and it's a '22. I wonder if it suffers from the same issue that causes the recall.
Other than my rear going out and the front's squeak, they're okay. I think a lot of what I'm experiencing in the "shaky breaks" is due to me still getting used to the bike.I’ve got about 1100 miles on my 22 interceptor and I my brakes seem to be, well, great! A deer tried to kill me in my driveway this morning and even in dirt/gravel my abs kicked in and didn’t lock up, slowed me down and saved me from what could have been really bad.
move heard people complain about the brakes but I’m not sure what about?
