A few issues out of the box, need advice.

Hello all. I just bought my GT 650 (2022) brand new. Ive been riding a 83 Yamaha Seca for the last 18 years (fully rebuilt and restored by me, all service, all paint) and I have some issues with my new out of the box bike. I feel like some of this is from the guy in the dealership that assembled it.

My throttle is exceptionally loose, the whole housing with the ignition switch pivots slightly. When I roll off the throttle I feel like my whole arm gets sent forward. (I hope this is just a matter of tightening a screw and the cables a bit).
My left foot peg covers my side stand. I had to flip up my foot peg to push down my side stand. Is it possible that tech installed this into the wrong hole?
My foot pegs feel very low, my knees are into the engine if I flat foot the pegs. Not the tank as it should be.

Now I did test ride a 2021 GT at a motorcycle show in january and didnt see/experience the same issues. I use to run training classes on spotting issues with your bike and how to fix them. I dont think I would have missed these things.
Im hoping that RE didnt source cheaper parts to reduce cost.

The sidestand has, to my knowledge, always just cleared the upsweep in the exhaust header pipe.(2018+). Nowhere else for it to go, really.
'Tis the same position on the Interrceptor, but that one's rider footrests are situated further forward, so access to the stand tang is better.
Ergos Seating position, likewise, seem always to have been "cafe racer". (Rear-set footpegs, racer style).

Sure it wasn't an Interceptor?

As far as test riding a new bike at a dealer, what dealership have you been to where they allow test rides? In my years looking for a new bike no dealer has allowed test riding until you sign the paperwork and hand them the check. then they all say to contact the manufacturer and make it a warranty issue. Which this one has. I even mentioned the throttle as soon as I sat on it.

Yes (as you call it) the side tang is in line with the foot peg. I dont understand what you mean by 'Always has been "cafe racer"'

hi, there are small guards on the rear of the engine cylinders, this i guess isnto prevent burns to your legs where the bike is ridden in maybe just shorts, so yes your legs will be fitting under the tank really, yss you have to pull up the footrest to push the sidestand, and yes check all the fasteners on the bike, on mine an indicator came loose at 150 miles, i also had to tighten the switchgear and you probably want to position the handlevers to suit yourself anyway, good luck with it, rich

The throttle housing is pinned to the handlebar. It might move slightly. Mine moves a tiny bit.

The stock peg mounts can't be lowered.

I have no trouble with my side stand. I can flick it down nicely with my heel.

My knees tend to be posisioned down by the fin guards, not directly in the tank cut-outs, as mentioned by rover100rich.

i have no issue kicking down the footstand without touching the footpeg at all.
