My goal this year is to camp at least once a month and ride new roads every trip. Last year when COVID hit I used it as an excuse to explore my home state of Tennessee. I am going to continue that an will camp in and visit as many State Parks that I can.
My base camp for this trip was Pickwick Landing State Park on the Tennessee River on the eastern edge of West Tennessee. There were 5 campsites occupied during my stay.
My plans were to visit Shiloh National Battlefield, do a backroads ride to visit 3 other state parks, do some hiking around the park I was camping in, and then do a loop ride into Mississippi to visit a couple parks, ride part of the Natchez Trace, and try to ride along the shoreline as much as possible.
The weather was in the 20s at night and 40s during the day for the most part. The wind and clouds made a difference in the feel.
It takes me close to two hours to set up and break down camp so having the trailer isn't a huge advantage over setting up a cabin tent. Maybe one day I'll build a larger trailer so I don't have to do as much conversion from motorcycle hauler to camper each time.
For this trip my choice was the Royal Enfield Himalayan since I knew forest roads and chip n seal roads were the predominant surfaces I would be riding.
