    chain maintenance

I have heard good things about Lanoguard. Bear in mind we use lanolin based grease for aircraft control cables to make sure they run smoothly and don’t corrode. At room temperature it is a solid waxy substance, but warm it up to hand temperatures it liquifies and you can paint it onto the inside...

    Meteor test ride

Yep. The interceptor is quite large in form. I kind of lost interest in riding one once I saw it in the flesh for the first time. Besides which there is too much chrome for my taste. I am looking forward to see what they do with the 650, and whether they use an updated version of the...

    Meteor test ride

watch this space - they are road testing their 650 cruiser which will have 2 1/2 times the power, a 6 speed box, and be as much fun as a barrel of monkeys!

    Personal first ride review

On the whole it was a nice bike to ride. Very responsive. Feels lighter than its weight would indicate and goes where you look very nicely. It’s a 350 without all that much power; will cruise all day at 60 happily, but don’t ask too much more of it because by 65 you are running out of steam...

    Meteor test ride

First of all, a big ‘Two Thumbs Fresh’ for Newcombe Brothers in Chelmsford who made it possible. Great service and even though I am not yet a customer of theirs, I will be! On the whole it was a nice bike to ride. Very responsive. Feels lighter than its weight would indicate and goes where you...

    Update on Itchyboots

I know it’s not an ideal solution, but you could make that possible relatively cheaply by fitting the TEC cam, and going up a tooth on the drive sprocket. It would ameliorate the cruising speed without compromising the design parameters or usability - and would be more than paid for by only...

    Update on Itchyboots

Yep.... for what she is doing I felt the torque to weight ratio was probably more relevant since it’s not about speed so much as the ‘tractor factor’; also that to get to the power on the honda requires far higher revs, and the weight distribution on the himalayan will be better. It’s like she...

    20% Power Boost? Read on!

The dyno run data on the diagrams presented look credible, and it isn’t their first rodeo on the aftermarket cam scene. S&S make the cams for TEC and they have a proven track record as well.

I didn't! I did however get the TORQUE figure from your post which I have quoted above! :)

    Update on Itchyboots

Thank you for throwing those figures into the pool of information to think about! If it were just raw power to weight considerations then absolutely the Honda would win every time. Torque/Weight comparisons: HImalayan = 32/421 = .076 Honda = 22/320 = .068 So Himalayan has an 11.8% advantage...

    Update on Itchyboots

not trying to be funny here.... but I believe that a Himalayan would be more appropriate for what she is doing than her current bike!

    Update on Itchyboots

I said I would take a look at it. Not that I would agree with it! I will look at things objectively and make up my own mind, thank you.

    Update on Itchyboots

I will stand by what I have said. You were the one trying to justify the nastiness behind your element that included both your perceived slight and then directly mentioning Noraly; when called out on it now you are trying to make out that having called BS on your excuse I am the one at fault...

given that your ‘general statement’ about loathing is on this thread that only deals with one particular person, I call bullshit on your excuse.
