Another place to put the ambient temperature sensor

Glad it worked for ya, I haven’t don’t much with the bike other then ride it To work recently. I got a job and working 12-16 hours a day 6 days a week has killed my time to do much other than sleep on my spare time.

    Handguards

they are like socks kinda. Lots of room in there, the same as with just the barkbusters. I guess if you lost grip on the bars and pulled your hand out all the way they are more work to get your hands in as you have to stick them in the tube hole. If your worried if they would keep you...

    Handguards

I have these as well, they where mega cheap and slip over the bark busters and you can still reach all the controls and work them.

    Chain Lube

When I say manual oil the chain, I have a button a push that fills a tube and then it trickles down in to the chain. I hit it every morning, or couple 100 kms while I’m on the road.

    Adjusting headlight aim

With you on the bike, if you gonna be touring with gear it’s good to adjust it again with the weight on the rear as well. Also should be done with the high beam on. Any old wall will work, I measured 25 feet back from one in my parkade, put some tape down. Moved the bike there measured the...

    Quick release fuel line connector?

Yes it does self seal, unless your fuel pump is on its way out. When my bike was due for a new fuel pump, the shop informed me that while they had my tank off and another on my bike to test stuff. My tank self drained on to their floor from the fuel pump outlet. So if you notice it keeps...

    Chain Lube

With the RE kits for our bikes, I’ve gotten the same mileage out of one that I never lubed or cleaned as one that I always kept lubed(with a manual Oiler). Well kinda, the first one all the links wore similar and it got too much play. The second one didn’t have any play in the links, but the...

    The Linux of BIG BORE

I don’t know if I’d be considered an early adopter where I got mine in September. That 2 year unlimited mileage warranty is pretty handy where I was 2 days outside my warranty when I needed an engine at 22,000 miles or so. Been holding off on any warranty voiding mods incase I needed it which...

    front fork diameter

I’ve seen brackets that bolted to the fork brace and had spots for lights on them. If that’s an idea, flat metal work is a tad easier some times than dealing with round clamp type stuffs

    Axle Nut Sizes

Whenever I’ve gotten a puncture, the bead was pre broken for me...well with the stock tires anyways. I haven’t gotten a flat other then 5 in my first 3000 miles and I’m almost through my 3rd set of tires now, so I guess lucky.

Another place to put the ambient temperature sensor

I’ve since moved mine up to under the dash area. If the bike is sitting in the sun it heat soaks a little bit, but as long as your moving it seems to stay pretty accurate to what the weather app says. It’ll show cooler and warmer when I feel the temperature changes. I extended the wiring...

    Axle Nut Sizes

The owners manual only states one tool for the axle nut, so I’d say they are both 24mm size. I’ve never seen a spoon wrench before, pretty clever. I just use a pair of wrench pliers to loosen and tighten mine, they will do 2mm to 36mm or something so they’ve been working as pretty well multi tool.

    “A total show-off”

It voids your warranty if you do your own servicing in the uk? Wow that’s super lame. In USA and Canada you can do your own as long as you save the payment slips for your stuff you bought. When they did my engine they never asked for them anyways. I do my own servicing, I probably wouldn’t...

    “A total show-off”

Headset bearings seem to be the only common one. The chains which I didn’t add think of I’m in the 3rd one, tires and brakes are wear items. Gauge cluster meh if it didn’t have warranty it wouldn’t have gotten replaced, just taken apart out in the oven to dry it out and then back together sealed...

The Big Four- Himalayan Rider Feedback

My previous bike (sv650) got more mileage on a 520 chain and made 3x the power. But it also was always on pavement and the chain got lubed often. My first chain didn’t have any stretch for 10,000 miles and kinda disappeared in the next 1000 miles. My second chain, I just never cleaned or...

The Big Four- Himalayan Rider Feedback

I got about 11,000 miles out of each of my RE chains and have a third one on there now, next time I’ll probably replace it with an Xring chain and change the gearing as well.

The Big Four- Himalayan Rider Feedback

I got some timken bearings, so far they have lasted longer than the factory ones. As for the marks, to see them I had to get the light to hit them right or else you couldn’t see the marks very well.
