I've looked just above the air box and under the rear mud guard near the license plate mount and no sign of a temp sensor. Does anyone know any other spots it could be? It's a 2021 model that was bought new.

I was under the impression it affects the fuel mixture does anyone know if this is the case?
today mine was off by 28*.
You're thinking of the IAT sensor, which is actually a thermistor that used to be mounted in the airbox and its readings, along with MAP are used by the ECU for fuel scheduling. That is totally different from an ambient air temp sensor/probe used for the temperature display.

Unless I'm mistaken, RE ceased using IAT sensors after Euro4 and went with altered cats and Lambda sensors.
