219 Himalayan side stand to long

Do the links on your bike show any type of part number? The rear shock setting could have an effect on your 6" result. If your bike leans a bit on the side stand, I would be pretty sure you don't have the lowering links installed. Lowering it even an inch would probably make the side stand...

    Forma Terra EVO and shifting

I've got Forma boots as well and raised up the shifter as far as possible. I have to contort my foot for each upshift by dropping my toe and entering from the side. I have to remove my boot from under the shifter after each shift or the shifter won't return to its proper place. But the...

    Seat release sans seat release

The seat should "pop" up when turning the key. Maybe it's just not popping. Perhaps you could turn the key and lift it with your hard? Worth a try

    Wrong oil level indication ?!?

Not quite. Page 99..... OIL LEVEL INSPECTION  Place motorcycle on its center stand on a firm surface.  Warm up engine for a few minutes & switch off before checking oil level.  The level is correct if the oil level is in the middle of the oil level window.  Top up only with recommended...

Who's had their brake caliper replaced under the recall? Question....

You are correct. I re-read my notice and it's for both calipers. My concern is the dealer says they'll replace the calipers under the recall, but they won't put back the existing pads and force me to pay for new ones. Nowhere on the notice do they mention anything about the pads.

Who's had their brake caliper replaced under the recall? Question....

Has anyone had their front caliper replaced yet, other than Pittbut? I'm wondering if the dealer found anything about that job they tried to charge you for? Did they try to upsell you anything? Did they comment about brake wear and force you to pay for new pads, etc? I'm waiting for...

Without any "tools" , laying the bike over to change the front is probably the only way to do it.

    Himalyan recall, Ride Apart

I've read the language in a few of the associated documents and it seems like there's a lot of wiggle room whether you're getting new calipers or not. In fact, one interpretation could be you may get the notice, but your calipers may not need replacing. Wonder if dealer discretion comes...

    NYS inspection rules for bikes

Police don't really enforce A LOT of "little" infractions. Kids under a certain age are required to wear bicycle helmets. Bicycles are not permitted to ride on sidewalks. Bicycles must ride "with" traffic. Pedestrians are supposed to walk/run "against" traffic. Motorcycles can not have...

    NYS inspection rules for bikes

Not sure if these are the current DMV regs, but here's what I found. Under the column "reject if"..... 1. System or elements are not securely fastened. Not equipped with an adequate exhaust system and muffler to prevent excessive noise. Equipped with cut outs, bypass or any device which...
