    1st service a absolute must at 300?

I Agree with the sooner the better comments. I purchased a '22 Continental from a fellow who bought it new and put only 300 some km. on it. It had not yet had its first service. The oil was yellow-ish as I recall and the valves were tight. I have no idea what oil they put in a new engine is...

    Continental GT 650 Handlebar Risers?

Cooperb Motorcycles: https://www.cooperbmotorcycles.co.uk/ is where I got them. They wouldn't sell or ship to Canada, so I had them sent through a third party. Some kinda liability issue they weren't insured for, they claimed. Keep in mind I put these on my Continental GT. I think there are far...

    Continental GT 650 Handlebar Risers?

Early Spring here in the British Columbia Interior region and I finally got the chance to try out the ride on my bike having installed the handlebar risers. I must say that it made the bike a lot more comfortable to ride. It allows for more of a sit-up posture, which is what I favor.

"But wait, there's more," or Further Himi 452 Rumor and Speculation

The RAID idea is too far into the future to be of much interest to me. While I am interested in the 450, I'm also looking forward to comparing it with my 411 and the Hitchcock performance cam I put in it last summer, which DID make a noticeable power difference. If there isn't a lot of...

I see a lot of Aged riders, coming back to riding, or just starting out?

Pretty much what others have said, for me. Rode young. Stopped to raise kids. Started again later on. One of the motivating factors for me to ride again was that I had some part-time work that meant travelling from the BC Interior to the coast fairly regularly. That meant riding there and back...

    Continental GT 650 Handlebar Risers?

I installed a set yesterday. It went OK. I was amazed at how tight all the screws were that had to be loosed so that the tubes could be lowered and I had to almost remove the triple tree to be able to slip off each of the handlebars. There is just barely enough slack in the wires and cables to...

    Continental GT 650 Handlebar Risers?

I'll be able to let you know after tomorrow. I just got a set mailed to me from the UK (via a 3rd party because Cooper's wouldn't ship to Canada) and I plan to install them tomorrow (Saturday).

I see a lot of Aged riders, coming back to riding, or just starting out?

Like most of you, I rode as a younger fellow. Small displacement dirt bikes, mostly. After retiring and moving to another Canadian province and wanting to ride again, I had to do the test to get the proper rider's license. I wanted to ride because I picked up some work that required me to...

Stumbled on this video on youtube.

Brought a tear to my eyes. I'm 76 and can't wait for next spring to arrive so I can get on the bike and ride some more local mountain trails and maybe, just maybe this time do a real trip somewhere.

    Himalayan

I had a good response from the Calgary, Alberta dealer I bought mine from. I live in BC. I ordered it and it got trucked here. I had idle problems, like everyone else and looked in to adjusting the ECU. I phoned them for the proper voltage settings. They phoned Royal Enfield, dunno where, for...

What issues have you had at 5K

I'm at 7000 and change km and have had no real issues: The booster plug fixed the idle problem. The Hitchcock performance cam has resulted in a noticeable power improvement. Yesterday I filled up with 89 octane instead of the 92 I normally use and the bike seemed to run better...no pinging...

Long time rider, new to RE

Welcome. With the compass, I found that riding in figure 8's dids help to orient the compass. It is sensitive to other likely magnetic fields like power lines and stuff. When I'm in the bush well away from such attractants, the compass works fine. The temperature guage works well, too, but only...

First, second and third free service

I just bought '22 CONTINENTAL GT with only 175 miles on the odometer. The seller admitted buying it on a whim and never using it. It hasn't even had the first oil change. Reading the owner's manual (online edition), there is a page near the end that shows where you record the first, second and...
