Hi and many thanks for the offer.... thats the exact bolt that I broke on my RE.... your solution was more elegant than mine for sure. I am good for now, not sure whether I can remove the bolt and replace it though. have to admit that working on old BMW nuts and bolts is a far different level of...

Rednaxs60: thanks for the info and the referral to Cords, agree they are good for machine work. Managed to EZ out the remainder of the bolt and replace. I used a 140 air gap with the new springs plus 2.5 turns on the adjustment from zero. Combined with the YSS no resevoir rear shocks plus the...

I just want to post a nice Interceptor 650 photo.

With the T201 mufflers - no baffle - and the cat-free head pipes it sounds just right to my old ears..... just a great over-run growl without the sharp tiring bark of the previous TEC 2 int 1 setup. The new shocks transform the handling along with the Conti tires. all in all a fine retro ride...

Great shot... the Interceptors are old school photogenic in my humble.... and being in S Dakotas helps as well. This was last week here on the real Big Island, think I'm finally done modifying the RE except for a CPU remap

Hans: same bars, no cross bar, 1” risers from TEC, adjustable levers

I used a heat gun on low, you are left with an impression in the clear coat. I’ll probably sand mine smooth and clear coat them. Yay US Honda for complaiNing

Flea bay eBay - z-speedshop took 10 days via DHL. the rears have the Diablo name on them but are YSS rear shocks, used 15 W shock oil in the front, let them drain overnight first

Are those Halcyon bar end mirrors….? Interceptor decals for side covers might be a nice touch for our NA RE’s its a quick mount job on the headlight bolts, I added some thick rubber washers as I’m using smaller headlight brackets, then I used a foam piece between screen and instruments to...

Lot cheaper too, this one is the Puig universal fly screen not a tight fit on the headlight but works fine and actually deflects the wind and feels good.

Gotta love the voice of experience for sure, I dont bounce well at 77 either. Coincidences: had an early SECA 650 and wish I had one now, they were a sweet bike plus my ST4S covered lots of miles, just got tired of sourcing spares in this part of the world..... enjoy the Ducati Major Service: I...

Regarding exhaust systems: tried the TEC 2-1 pipe first as have had experience with new Triumphs and this pipe, but didn't enjoy the sound or look. Looking at the plugs, they are not running lean so the Bosch cpu is compensating just fine, also used a DNA air filter minus the front plate. I...

Excellent, we have similar tastes in bikes. Just changed up to the Touring seat - what a difference... the weight reduction plan for the RE worked wonders. Alloy front fender, better brake pads, LED turn signals, old Hella headlight, de-badged tanks, upgraded shocks to YSS front & back...

    Seats

I just got the RE Touring seat and rear cowl from Royal Sparezo, feels better on first sitting. Will go for a longer ride and see. Looks good with the rear cowl a well. Will take some photos and post for a verdict. Delivery was fast and price was more than right.

Avon Roadriders made a major upgrade to the handling and grip, especially in the wet. Took away the vague steering and made it precise. next big step is the YSS fork and rear spring upgrades which turn the RE into exactly what I wanted to do. As a rider and builder for the last half century I...
