Going to say thank you.
My record (+MP3) collection is small and specific - think Queen, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin and you get the idea.
This music has taken me to places that I had forgot (Metallica and the Seekers) and places that I have never been - WOTE
spent probably far too long going down avenues that I should never have gone down, but am all the better for it.

Again can I thank you - it matters a lot. Music being the center of the soul

For this week's Friday ride:
Dedicated to the lady riders here, the special loves and dance partners who hold on tight,
who don't give up and bring one into the light, right down the line.

Inspired by traditional lyrics, Scottish poet Robert Burns penned Auld Lang Syne in 1788.
Meaning “old long since,” this has become a song of renewal on the new year.
May all find their own unique talents as individuals, release what is troubling and stand strong as one people all together.
In love we find the way.
Our brethren and sistren of U.C. Dublin and the UK singers, Voces8, share this message.
Happy New Year.

Here's a nice little tribute to the thing that makes our morning commute - whether listening on a radio in a cage or via bluetooth helmet on two wheels - much more enjoyable.

Sometimes you just need to get away from the world for a while, and a motorcycle is one of the best ways to do it...

...although sometimes the best way is to get into the gym, crank up the headphones, and work your body into a deeply satisfying ache that lets you know you accomplished something real.

I had to come back and revisit this thread so I could add this one.
For my own safety, this song had to be removed from all of my in-helmet playlists as it has a direct effect on my throttle hand. :D
If this song hits you on that perfect stretch of twisties on a clear day...look out, it's as close to flying as you can get on 2 wheels. Heaven help you at the 1 minute mark...you're sucked in and at 2:45 you're holding on for dear life...with an ear to ear grin.;)

I don't know about anybody else, but sometimes I like some instrumental background music when I'm cruising around, either on long stretches or on lonely backroads through hills and mountains. It also makes for some good background ambience when I'm really focusing on a task at work or at home. I tend towards longer, unbroken recordings or loops so the ambience isn't broken by words or breaks in the song.

This one has an epic feel to it. It's from one of my favorite video games.

"Celery" is a 29-minute song by Buckethead. This is a 10-hour long looped version that is fantastic for cruising or working all day long.

Somebody took "The Grid" from Tron: Legacy and looped it. Makes for great nighttime riding ambience.

Paul Van Dyk and Orbital have made masterpieces in the electronic music genre just like you described. I remember having both of them on endless loops on my commute to school in the early Oughts in the Bay Area and the drive to and fro was essentially a trans experience. Oh to be young and carefree, now can't even remember what that felt like

For the holiday ride, a moving bass line,
and for Judith who passed this year from The Seekers, recorded on a moving cruise.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year.
I'm not sure about The Seekers as bike music but they are on the playlist in the truck. I'm sure Angus, Malcolm and George were fans too.

Yes! This type of music, and anything from TRON:Legacy soundtrack are fantastic.

This is another great nighttime ride song:

Living in the west, anything by Lord Huron makes me want to hit the road. This is an excellent example:
