Yep, original rear tire, 5700 miles.
Thanks. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect with mine. It seems your riding style is similar to mine. How many more miles do you expect out of your front tire?

When it's 'my time' I will be converting to tubeless and looking for the largest and highest load rating tire that will fit. I've been spoiled by the longevity of the tires on my 1500 Goldwing (20,000/set). Fixed income demands my frugality. 😉

Hi @60sRetro , I notice the pipes coming out of the headers are brown. This is not common in this bikes .
Did you change all your exhaust system?

I am starting to suspect that the original pipes are double side , with the nice chrome in the outside, making it shiny and double as heavy .

Saving weight on the pipes - or anything else connected to the bike does seem like a waste of time when the rider (me) is over 270lbs - 5 or 10 lbs on the weight of a silencer is pointless.
But I do like the look of the Coburn seat on the bike above.

Discoloration is perfectly normal. Any header pipe that appears chrome on the inlet is either new or a cover over a real pipe!
I don't know how long manufacturers have been using double-wall headers to avoid heat 'discoloration', but my '74 Suzuki GT750 had them, as I assume the two previous model years of that bike also did.

My 2018 Thruxton had single wall stainless headers, and didn't look too bad when they turned a sorta golden brown patina...

I like the looks of those mufflers. What can you tell us about them?
They are AEW201's from Raju. He lives 4k from where they are built in India and provides them at a great price. Had them with the baffles in for about a month (here in Thailand) but now use them without and it sounds glorious. I think you can find sound clips on YT. They also give you a lot more space for luggage.
