I ordered the same seat on Ebay, to be delivered to where I am staying in Spain from India. Then the lockdowns started. Still not arrived but once it does and I have tried it out, I shall post my thoughts on it.

I ordered the RE Touring seat from India in early March before the lockdown. It arrived in Canada in 6 days! I have enjoyed riding on it immensely. It is perfect for me - a lot better than the OEM seat and only cost $80 US plus $15 for shipping. I couldn't ask for a better seat.

How to tell you have a real himalayan touring seat ....look at the base of the seat there are some small holes , if it is the real touring one you should see the new MESH inside the holes ..if you see sponge its the standard seat ..

Is this Touring seat any higher or 'flatter' than is the original seat? I find the original seat pushes me too much forward. I made some provisional cushion and am trying to find out which is the right height for me so I can sit a bit further backwards.

Looking at them both together they look the same in depth . The difference is in the net meshing the touring seat has & it feels firmer to the touch . But both look identical ..

Eventually got my touring seat from India. Only ridden about 200 miles on it so far and it is a lot harder than the standard seat. I will be giving it a right good test over the next few months so I shall be able to give a much better opinion on it once it had my fat arse sitting on it for a while.

The Touring seat has the RE logo on the top at the back.

It is better than standard (and cheaper than a standard seat as well in Australia).
It is still a long way from a custom seat, Sargent etc.

I am considering changing my seat for a touring one, but I am afraid it will raise considerably the distance to the ground. I am 173cm. What is your opinion? How tall are you? In advance thanks :)
