Retired from a lifetime of seafaring (Marine Engineer) 6 years ago and took up adventure riding. Since then I have clocked up over 60,000K's on my Yamaha XT660Z Tenere, and just ticked over 70 years of age. Been finding the Tenere is becoming a touch too tall for me lately, so recently put a deposit on a 2020MY Himalayan. Fortunately, I am still in relatively good health, but do carry plenty of scars from riding beyond my ability. Having said that, I can still maintain pace with younger riders on much more sophisticated bikes. With age comes experience and supposedly wisdom.....not quite so sure about that, but figure that if I intend to continue riding some changes are necessary.....Hence a bit of a step back pace-wise but still wanting a bike capable of going to the places I wish to explore. Enter the Himalayan. Happy to share these experiences with anyone interested

Hello mate. Had a Yamaha XT600E myself some years back. The joy of the Himalayan is it slows us all down and makes the journey all the more interesting.
