actually it was mostly BS4 that had this issue, about 80% where BS4. The BS3 frame mostly broke around the driver"s foot rest.
This is a widely reported case but there are many unreported ones that I have seen.
One of my operator friends out of Manali had 3 incidences last year alone:

But many more appeared in Leh:

These incidences show up mainly during riding season in Ladakh as those roads are the most challenging around here.
So I guess in September 2020 we will know if this plague has been resolved by RE.
There have been endless discussions on advrider and elsewhere about this so if you go there you can find all the positions people have regarding this issue.
It mainly revolves around the question if exported bikes are somewhat immune to this or if the public outside India so far has only been lucky.
I personally do not take any risks and have the frames of my bikes strengthened at the critical junctions as a matter of course.

The consensus on this over on ADV is the bikes are the same but the chances of them being used outside their design envelop are much higher in India. Three's been no broken frames in the western world.

No sense in re having the lengthy discussion about it here since it's been done already but if you're interested it's spread over a whole bunch of pages starting HERE

We've come to the point where a well intentioned post / poster receives abuse for not being able to remember posts before he joined the forum .... oops , sorry iv'e supposed to have fec'd off .....
I thought you had left for good ?
at least 2 people have taken strides to give meaningful answers to your question, yet you feel the need to pick the one guy who gets a bit agitated by the fact that he must see this post yet again? you are not well intentioned, if anything you are suffering highly selective perceptional filters biased to find the one fly in the soup that would allow you to play the victim game. I get it that the mod does not want confrontation, but there has to be a limit when it comes to support of passive aggressive behavior, even when totally unconscious and quite possibly based on early childhood trauma.

Perhaps I over reacted.

When you put up pictures like this without doing any research or explanation then you are doing it for a reaction.
Too many things are posted to stir things up without providing full information.

Come on , he is an Englishman, and they like to think they are something special.
He probably thought he was the only person in the world who had seen the photos, and was just letting us poor simpletons know what might be causing our bike to handle a bit funny.
Probably best if he went over to ADV, plenty of his sort over there.

Well ... I'm not English, and you have no idea what sort I am ..... You may be a simpleton but there are too many on here that are not. The majority give good advice, are humorous and even bloody funny at times .... I'm on a couple of other interest forums and there are always a cadre of folk that just love to suck the fun out of any item of interest .... bitch away ..... (although thats probably unfair to bitches).
