My side stand recently collapsed causing damage, I have fitted a OE item from RE but don't trust it, been looking at the adjustable item from Tourtecs anyone fitted one?Is there a market for these? Just poking around with an idea... it would be adjustable with an enlarged footprint. Very high quality. Probably around $125 with core return required. Thoughts?

I can't wait, please put me down for one!Within about 2 weeks I will have new, OEM, shortened by 3/8" sidestands with an enlarged circular footpad. They will be affordable.... should be $85 if everything works out as planned
Like I said, stopped on the side of the road, the ground was not flat but had a slight angel to the right. I put the kickstand down and leaned the bike left , because of the long kickstand, the bike fell right and somehow got my jacket sleeve hung up on the bars, when it pulled my arm straight, my feet where planted on the ground and 400+lbs ripped my bicep off my elbow. Had to pick the bike up one handed as my left arm was not working and in pain. Had the kickstand been shorter, the bike would have leaned left and not fall over.I feel for you brother! I broke my ankle and fractured some foot bones last year and had to free my stuck boot, lift the bike and ride home about 60 minutes before having my wife take me to an emergency room.
I'm trying to picture your incident to perhaps learn what to avoid. Would you be able to provide specific details on what happened?
That sounds brutal. Sorry to hear about your accidentSo, this is what happens when you put down your kick stand and the bike falls over because of the 0% lean it has. The bike caught my jacket sleeve on the way down and ripped my bicep muscle off my elbow, causing it to spring up into my upper arm.
I had to ride the bike home 3 hours on horrible pain. I went into surgery and they reatched the muscle to my elbow. I haven't rode in 4 months because of my arm.....
This $5k bike has cost me $19k in hospital and Dr bills......
I'll let you know when I get to that phase!oh
Postage to Australia ?
Jeez dude hope you on the mend,I think they heavy bit of kit, not as heavy as your bills here cost nothing great nation health service and workers through out ,mine caught me out a coupe of times, got side stand shortened and Plate onSo, this is what happens when you put down your kick stand and the bike falls over because of the 0% lean it has. How you doin? I used a cutting off disc with a hand grinder ... removed approx 20mm ( 3/4Inch ) cutting off at the foot base and duplicated the cut angle higher up the leg ... stand is hollow . I used a 3 mm mild steel welding rod to weld the foot back on. It doesn't have to be exact ( the ground isn't perfect ) I also cut off and re welded the push bar further up the sidestand. The lean angle is very good now and I don't have to worry about a slight breeze blowing her over. I mount the bike by placing my boot on the peg, standing on to it and swinging my leg over. Hope this helps, cheersCool.... did you find the innerds to be hollow or is it solid?
Did you change the angle of the pad? I'm guessing that if the sidestand is shortened, it would affect how the pad touches the ground?
Any idea on what an optimum deduction from the sidestand would be for most cases? 3/16"? 1/2"?
Thanks!
God bless you, ShortRider. I'm still having back issues after I flopped at a stoplight. Hope you heal soon. So, this is what happens when you put down your kick stand and the bike falls over because of the 0% lean it has. got one of these and it was the same size of my 2021 himi, mine has the shoulder bolt so its uses the euro5 stand and thiers is for euro4 which has the full threaded bolts. was told just drill it out but since its the same legnth then why keep it. ireturn for refundHimmaShortStands are now available! $89 after core return.
It was a long time coming and quite a bit of effort, but they came out perfectly. I think everyone will be really happy with these. As always, any feedback is welcome

i did the same thing but took off 30mm and that is way to much. tried to add back at least 10mm to bottom of new pad but it looks like it still leaning way to much for my liking. How you doin?
