Got my pre-ordered Himalayan today!!!

Happy Himalayan Day to me! I got my call to pick up my bike on Thursday and told the dealership I would be there on Saturday (today) morning to pick it up. I then arranged a motorcycle trailer from U-Haul. Picked it up this morning around 8:30, and got to the dealership at 9:45. In and Out was pretty easy as I was purchasing it outright. They offered me an extended warranty for $500 (6-year total warranty), which I purchased. The salesman helped me load it on the trailer, than 45-minutes later, I came home with my new toy.

Then got her in the garage so I could return the trailer

Then I started to add the farlkes I've received so far. I am still waiting for the handlebar risers and panniers/rack, but I got the touring seat, GPS Mount, engine guards, hand guards and grip puppies installed.

And I gotta tell you, Royal Enfield sure does send a pretty key with their bikes, don't they?

Anyhow, I've only taken the bike around the block a couple of times as I won't have the bike insured until Monday, but that's fine.... forecast is calling for snow overnight, so she can stay in the garage for a bit.

I guess y'all are stuck with me :)

I also think I want to install a slightly larger windshield and better mirrors. Other than that, and the panniers and risers, she'll be ready for next year's adventure. The Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail!

Very cool! That means the pre-ordered units are shipping and we won't have to wait too much longer........

Woww... Congratulations and welcome to Himmy Family. Very good color you picked. I have the same hand guards on my Himalayan. Does your hand guard touch either side of the wind shield when you turn in high position?

Ody04: I moved my windshield in the forward position to allow installation of the GPS Mount, and the guards just barely make contact on full turn. I was worried about that as well and was going to order the RE guards, though I just really do not like the way they look. But, after moving the shield in the forward position, all is well.

BurnieM, I will certainly snap a photo of that.

Thanks all for the congrats. I am very exited to start riding the bike. I am hoping for some decent fall days here in Wisconsin, but it's nice just owning one at this point.

It is a 2021 model. The side stand seems fine to me. When resting on the stand, the bike has enough lean that I feel it is secure. Yesterday was a really windy day. 30mph wind with higher gusts, and I had the bike on the side stand without any hint of tipping.

Nice... they were supposed to fix the sidestand issue, and it is appeared they have.

BurnieM: Ask and you shall receive.

From the whole 1.5 miles I put on the bike, it looks like when you turn off ABS, the ABS button lights up. I didn't have the bike running when I took this picture, but since it was already illuminated, I thought that was good. Also, you can see the button just to the right of the ABS button to turn it off and on. Not the best pictures, but I think you can see it just fine.

Right, sorry, I misspoke. The ABS button is left of the fuel guage. Sorry, new bike and all. Anynow, in the 1.5 miles I rode it, it's just a press of the button to turn it off/on.

Nope, all good. I do appreciate you pointing that out as I want to make sure others seeing this thread won't be mistaken.

I gotta say though, this has got to be one of the nicest instruments panels on a motorcycle.

BurnieM, roger that :) I should have the bike insured today, and it looks like Wednesday and Thursday will be decent days to start the break-in process.

Congratulations, Dan! It so happens I preordered the same Rock Red, and got word last week that the bike had arrived at the dealership. Unfortunately the dealer is about 450 miles from my home in another state, so I'll be having the bike shipped to me (somewhere around $300, enclosed transport). The salesman I'm working with sent me a picture of the bike fresh out of the crate.HimalayanUncrated.jpg
