I’m wiring the bike for gps and aux lights. I’ll use a fuse block powered by a relay (likely triggered by the taillight circuit).

seems the area directly under the pillion seat would be a great place for the fuseblock, but I’m having trouble finding one thin enough to fit (at least, with the factory tool kit I. The stock location).

any suggestions?

Use single in line fuses with posi lock and posi tap connectors get your ground from the frame https://www.posi-products.com/posiplug.html

I added a relay and fuse box for future expandability. Battery to the relay and to fuze block I used 14AWG Wire, from fuse box to different accessories 16AWG wire used. From fuse box I used connections for 12V Aux (for airpump), 5V outlet (2x1A), 5V outlet (2x2A), 1 12v switched trigger for Fog Lights in low beam.

I made a separate dedicated 14 AWG wire connection For Fog lights with its own relay which is triggered when high beam or low beam light is in use (depending on the need, using single pole double throw switch).

I came across this option today, the HealTech ThunderBox. It looks like a neater option that a relay/fuse box plus it provides three different on/off options. It also a delay option built-in so that nothing draws power until the bike is running steadily.

Has anyone tried one?


I bought the single circuit version but have not installed it yet, it looks quite compact and flexible in ways you can install and trigger its power management.To tell the truth, it wasn't really too much additional cost compared to the small fuse blocks that are not waterproof when you add in wires and a relay, and perhaps even less than one of the neat Eastern Beaver setups. The name made me chuckle a bit though.

Agree with the addition of an accessory fuse block, with relay. The OEM wiring is the minimum sized wire to safely operate the motorcycle from the factory. Splicing into the OEM wiring may not cause anything to happen, but why tempt fate. Having your additions to the electrical system separated from the OEM installed is beneficial for troubleshooting, disconnect the power to your accessory fuse block and you are left with the original factory install. Have used the Fuzebloc, PC8 and both are good, but the expense doesn't justify the use. The Fuzebloc is good for an install where room is at a premium, good integrated unit. The PC8 still needs an external relay. The inexpensive Amazon/eBay types with an integrated ground bus are ideal.

To route the wires so you know which wires are yours, I use a wire loom cover:

Looks good and tidy. Finish the ends with a shrink wrap.
