Mine disappeared too , but the motor stopped at the same time.
Blown no 2 fuse , traced to the bottom of the ignition switch hitting part of the wiring harness.
Pulled the harness over with a cable tie, one day I might find the chaffed wire and insulate it!

Years ago I experienced the same problem Roy had, bike stopped in mid-run and all electric was off. It was then "fixed" by putting in a new lock-set.
Of course that may have been overkill and the real reason never unearthed. But since then I had no recurrence.

Lost my clocks today. They were fine when I started the bike, but a 100 metres up the road and the display back light disappeared and speedometer, tachometer, fuel dials not working. The green indicator leds were working, but all the display for mileage, gear indicator etc are blank. The bike still ran fine, lights and indicators all worked as normal. I think I've past the warranty period now, so I'm going to have to figure it out. Electrics not really my forte, so any suggestions of what to look for are welcome.

I had the same issue with the display going out, but no bike stall. I found that the instrument plug was rubbing against the headlight case and that's what was making it go in and out. once I got in there and pushed everything in a little bit so it did not rub on the light case I did not have that problem anymore
