Bullet Trials 500?

Are the footpegs in the same position as the Bullet? Do they allow you to rise off the saddle on a corrugated road?
Is the suspension any different to the Bullet?

I'm currently playing: what would I buy if some barsteward parked a truck on my Himalayan.
I love my Himmy, but am starting to realise that dirt roads and light trails are more my scene, I'm not going to do long, off road camping tours or serious single track. Not that I'm going to sell my Himmy, it does everything I want perfectly, BUT, if I had to buy another bike... even if it does have to be second hand.

The guys on Regency road have one on the floor , so you can have a look.
My BSA B44 VS has a proper trials frame and the pegs are at the balance point, front to rear . And a bit lower than most road bikes too.
If you ever actually need to stand on the pegs for a yard or twenty that is probably more important than comfort,
I recently spent a couple of weeks exploring the dirt roads and tracks on the Isle of Skye and the Western Scottish Highlands and I would take a stock Bullet almost anywhere I would take the Hima - suspension is supple and well balanced and the bike feels much lighter than the Hima.
The trials version might be a little better than the road bike, but I would be surprised if it is much more than a styling exercise.

Yeah, that's what I thought, the Trials is just a Bullet in a party frock.
If I remember rightly, they were inspired to develop the Himalayan when they saw where people were taking their Bullets. I've certainly seen photos of them in strange places.

If the pegs were at the balance point there would be a trials 500 replica already in my garage. I liked everything else about the bike.

I might end up with a Kawasaki KLX 300 SM to mount on the rear truck rack I am currently using for the Van Van 200. The Van Van is limited in where it can go due to top speed. Having to cross a river on a 65 mph road to get to more back roads is a scary endeavor on the Van Van.

I bought my green 2020 Trials 500 a year ago and I love it. It’s ready just Classic 500 not a Bullet with on off road tires and a good fork brace. In my opinion with no serprize in makes a better road bike then the Himalayan. Off road again with no serprize my Himalayan does better.
