Bike won't start. No fuel: How to fix a fouled injector

I use one of these to "buzz" the injector during the cleaning operation. It's a bit pricey for the average owner, but I think it's a must-have tool for a shop. And, as RotorWrench mentioned, use a 9 volt battery with a momentary switch.

Bike won't start. No fuel: How to fix a fouled injector

Well done. That's pretty much how you do it. The only thing I do differently is to force some cleaner into the injector with a syringe/hose while I click the injector. A safety note to other members of the forum: Be careful where you ground the spark plug when testing for spark on the bike...

    How to use the center-stand.

Lots of good advice here. My 2 cents: Left hand on left grip, right hand grabbing the rail with an underhand grip Bring the center stand down slowly with the ball of your right foot. Make sure both center stand contact points are contacting the ground. Once you're ready, quickly shift your...

    Unbalanced wheels

True story: Many years ago I, and several other local mechanics, helped a team from Honda Japan change out every spoke nipple on seventy-five CR model motorcycles in a warehouse in Edmonton over a 3 day weekend. I was one of two tire re/re guys. I was shown how to handle rims with 2 bead locks...

    Unbalanced wheels

In an emergency situation on the road, you could snug up a loose spoke or two to get you going. A dirt bike is one thing, but if you want to ride a motorcycle safely on the highway, you'd better get the wheel properly repaired as soon as possible. Once again, randomly snugging up loose spokes...

    Hello from Edmonton, Alberta

Greetings from Hines Creek in north western Alberta. Your bike likely has a "Booster Plug". It richens up the intake air temperature sensor and helps overcome low-speed fueling glitches.

Stock tires - is it time to replace?

That's some significant weather-checking. Ozone, UV light and tire-cleaning products are the usual culprits. Many years ago I rode a customer's bike into the shop, and went for a huge slide. I was later informed that the customer had coated the tires (including the tread) with a tire shining...

    S&S Race-Only 2-into-1 exhaust.

That's a good question. As far as I can tell, both versions of the pipe pass SAE noise emissions, but the race-only pipe isn't CARB compliant. I'm not sure what the exact difference is..... Regardless, this pipe wouldn't pass an out-of-province inspection here in Alberta, nor is it likely to...

    S&S Race-Only 2-into-1 exhaust.

I originally posted this in another forum, but thought I'd post it here to for the GT owners. I installed it last week. The pipe isn't available in Canada, and dealers won't ship it to Canada. Luckily I found a lightly used one for a good price on E-bay. Installation was pretty straight forward...

    650 Interceptor relays

I suspect the grease in the black "clean ground" wire connector might be a problem, as much as the relay connectors. Mine was packed with grease.
