Was a great day at the Meltdown - but only one RE on display! It was a beaut, diesel Bullet.

Looks like the weather is cooperating! Rain in the area is now not forecast until late evening on Saturday.

I missed reading my email when this first came in, Is anyone else going? I am planning to ride the Himmy up (S of Clt) Saturday morning, do some demo rides, etc. and then mosey back in the afternoon. Also planning to attend the Meltdown on Apr 29. Join us for an awesome day...

Yes, my trickle charge connection also powers my battery monitor/USB port and (many many times) powers the portable compressor.

    Rear cases/bags for 2021 Himalayan

This. I have both the LOMO soft bags and some nice Moose Racing Expedition hard (Aluminum) panniers. 90% of the time I use the LOMO. Yes, like saddlebags, but you can separate them, use one soft bag and one hard pannier, etc. I have the LOMO tank bags as well - took the LOMOs on multiple...

What have you done to your Himalayan today (or yesterday, or this week ...)

Don't recall if you have mentioned adding fog/aux lights - but I noted a striking diff in the drop of SMIDSY after I added the (very bright) aux lights to my bike. I see people do the double take, wait for me to roll by, instead of the pulling out in front of me, etc. They may still...

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the bike! The Himmy is great for your area - and mine did quite well on the MABDR last year. Enjoy!

What have you done to your Himalayan today (or yesterday, or this week ...)

IMHO no, only the single point of support. I have found the inexpensive JFG guards from Amazon to be easier to mount and proven (to me) to be quite robust in the face of unintentional abuse.

First Himalayan on Trans-Wisconsin Adventure Trail

Pick up some 'hiking gaiters' that will work with your boots and pants - inexpensive ones fromAmazon worked great for me on the MABDR. Double plus 1 on the SPOT or Garmin since you are solo. I used mine on the MABDR when a rider in another group went down hard and I had the only capable...

Anybody installed JFG RACING Handguards on his/her Himalayan?

Spot on - exactly what I did when I installed the JFG guards on my 2020.

    windshield extender

I did both the windshield extender and extended the mirrors - I'm 6'2'' and all legs (34' inseam). Much quieter at all speeds.

    New Bike long ride home

Great advice here. I have done most of the trip you are planning, but ME/NH (Kittery Naval Shipyard) down to SC, and eventually into FL. We kept it relaxed and fun, as much of A1A, 1, 13 and 17, etc. as we could. Map out ALL of the RE dealers along your route just in case. The Himmy is not...
